Elton John has compared Pnau to Michelangelo

Story filed by Joel Freeman on July 9, 2012

Elton John has compared Pnau’s production work on their new collaborative album to Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling.

‘In conversation’ with The Guardian, Elton said: “For example, on ‘Sad’, the hook in the song is just the backing vocals from ‘Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word’, which is just very minimal. When you look at it as a task, it’s a bit like doing The Sistine Chapel. It’s extraordinary the amount of work that’s gone into it.”

“What they’ve done is something that sounds as if it was made today, and these tracks were made 40 years ago. And that’s astonishing. It’s a unique piece of art.”

Elton John vs Pnau’s album ‘Good Morning to The Night’ is due to be released on July 16.
