Charli XCX’s album has got a release date (sort of)

Story filed by Brad O'Mance on May 25, 2012

Charli XCX has told This Is Fake DIY that her album will (eventually) be out in October.

The title, however, is ‘TBC’ at this stage. “I haven’t got a name for it yet,” she said, “because I keep thinking, ‘Oh, that’s really good!’ and then I change it. I’m just totally indecisive!”

The ‘doom-pop’ chanteuse also revealed (ie expanded on something that’s in her press biog) that she thinks of her music in colours.

“I think of it in black and pink and gold,” noted the songstrel. “Those are the colours that are on the album. In my head, it’s very much a pop record, but I feel like it’s got two sides to it. It’s got a more pink, light side. More teen, bedroom, daydreamy kind of side. Then I think there’s a much darker, more emotional, scary and mysterious side.”

Well there you go. ‘Black and gold, black and gold.’ And pink.
