Pop is sometimes at its best when it takes you by surprise and 'Shark In The Water' does the do very well indeed: its chorus is a massive, unexpected blast of thumpy-pumpy summer-sounding pop meaning that the song itself is a similarly unexpected shot in the arm for the whole VV Brown 'campaign'. There are lots of reasons for this to be a big hit record and it would be great to see VV in the charts because, on the basis of that record sleeve, she's really not cut out for a career as a scarecrow.
