It says 'legendary songstress' on the press release for this breathtaking comeback single.
To be fair, Petula has sold 68m records. SIXTY EIGHT MILLION. Not even Adele has done that. Mind you check back in a couple of months and she might have done, but that's not the point.
The point here is that 'Cut Copy Me' is a sort of Saint Etienne-meets-Lana Del Rey-esque surprise triumph. Part of its beauty lies in the fragility of the whole thing but if anyone at the label's reading that's not to sat we wouldn't quite like to hear a big stupid arms-aloft remix if there is one knocking about.
