'Sticks and stones' and 'diamond rings' are both lyrical things in urgent need of an 18 month pan-pop ban, but this finished, tarted up and sparkly version of a song that first leaked in 2010 is now the lead single from the 'Teenage Dream' reissue and sounds extremely good in a slightly overprocessed pop lady shouting sort of way.
We like how it marks the beginning of the end of the 'Teenage Dream' campaign with a big old 'I still think about it but I'm genuinely over it now and I'm happy with that' sort of song.
