Dear Prudence – ‘Coming Apart Again’

Released: Free download, available now
Label: London
More info

As a band (because they are a 'proper band') Dear Prudence seem to be one of those 'amazing frontperson and a selection of session musicians' jobs. In this case the frontperson is Brighton singer of song Madeleine Poncia which, however you look at it, is a tremendous name for a recording artiste.

We first heard a bit of Madeleine's stuff - including an early version of this song - a couple of years ago, and while Dear Prudence is a little rockier sonically you'd have to be a blind and deaf twat to miss the big pop heart beating at the centre of all this. Also, let's be honest, she looks a lot like a popstar.

Radio 1 have already decided that Dear Prudence are worth a punt, adding them to their BBC Introducing thing which means - among other things - that they'll be performing at this weekend's Reading and Leeds festivals. Naturally, we'll see you down the front.

The song's a free download here if you're interested, and further tracks 'Valentine' and 'China Doll' can be heard on the band's SoundCloud page.
