Released: March 30, 2012
Label: Interscope
More info
This has been knocking around for a while, partly because it is one of the bonus tracks on the 'Call Me Maybe' so-called 'EP', but you probably just bought the single track (because it's too early in Jepsen's career to be investing in 'EP's).
This cover really deserves its own time to shine, though, because:
1. While not being as good as the Susan Boyle or Glen Campbell versions, it is marginally better than the John Barrowman one and we know this sounds like we're taking the piss but we're not and that really is a good position for the Carly Rae Jepsen version to be in.
2. It livens up Joni Mitchell's attempt, which was always a bit on the plodding side, right?
3. It's basically mostly brilliant, although 22% rubbish too to keep you on your toes.
LISTEN TO THIS.
