• VV Brown - or Vanessa Brown to her friends, family and local council - was nearly signed by P Diddy when she was just 15 years old.


• She also co-wrote Sugababes' 'Denial' single and sang backing vocals on the first Pussycat Dolls album. 'Impressive'.


• She tends to take herself quite seriously and in that sense was the original Jessie J.


• Her debut album, 'Travelling Like The Light', had its moments, specifically the wonderful 'Shark In The Water'.


• She joined the line-up of ladies prancing about in and out of various outfits for Marks & Spencer in February 2010 and left in July 2011 to 'concentrate on the music'.


• Her second album featured collaborations with Bjorn Yttling (of Peter Bjorn and John 'fame') and Ne-Yo collaborator Chuck Harmony.
