SD2 takes place in Stanmer Park on September 29 and will eventually feature loads of other acts but they haven’t been announced yet.

Tickets go on sale on Friday at 9am and are priced at a not-too-unreasonable £34.50. Apparently it all finishes by 9pm so you can go out afterwards, which is good. If you need an idea of somewhere good to go we’d recommend asking Joel Freeman.

In an effort to squeeze as many dubious exclusives out of it as possible, a preview of the new video will be shown on ‘Daybreak’ after 8am on Tuesday morning.

The full video will then ‘premiere’ at midnight tomorrow night on Capital TV.

The ‘Let’s Get Ugly’ hitmakers announced the preview earlier today on their Twitter page.

The Wanted’s latest opus ‘Walks Like Rihanna’ was played in full on – WAIT FOR IT – Capital FM this morning and now you can listen to it below if you fancy.

That chorus is really quite good isn’t it.

Despite some epic moaning from certain quarters of The Wanted’s fanbase…

…The Wanted indeed confirmed the news we reported yesterday – that the banter-bothering boyband’s new single is called ‘Walks Like Rihanna’.

‘WALKS LIKE RIHANNA’.

Even better, they have even chucked a 30-second clip online [most links now seem go have been deleted sadly] and we believe the full song is due to premiere at some point today.

Naturally the chorus lyrics – “she can’t sing, she can’t dance, but who cares – she walks like Rihanna” – are brilliantly terrible, but this is no easy instance of ‘so bad it’s good’. These lyrics are so terrible that they sort of propel themselves, and the entire song, beyond normal concepts of good and bad and into an entirely new value system.

The clip would be an unlistenable joke were it not for the fact that, as you can hear, the melody of the Dr Luke-produced single is absolutely fucking amazing. And this changes everything. This means that a single that could easily have been a tragic plea for attention from a boyband desperately trying to drum up attention as One Direction conquer this planet and most others could, in fact, be something that kickstarts a whole new ‘chapter’ in The Wanted’s career. It’s fantastically uncool and lacking in credibility, which is a bit strange considering how seriously The Wanted have usually taken themselves, but perhaps JUST LIGHTENING UP FOR A MINUTE is exactly what’s needed.

Seriously what a tune. This might even be the best chorus melody of The Wanted’s career to date.

(We’ll revisit this post when the whole track appears because this song seems impossible to second guess.)

The single is called ‘Walks Like Rihanna’ and will be out on June 23. It was co-written and produced by sorely underused pop alchemist Dr Luke, which may or may not be a good thing.

The video was shot in LA and will be ‘premiered’ on May 7.

Lead vocalist Tom Parker had this to say about it all: “We are really excited about this single. We feel it’s a little different from the usual Wanted sound, we’ve stripped it back to pure pop, it’s just a feel good, fun track. Fun is a good word to describe the video too. Let’s just say it’s got a lot of character.”

‘Fun’ and ‘character’ equals ‘banter’ and ‘lads’ in this context we imagine.

The title was sort of confirmed by tweets from various people who’d been in the video, and according to wotyougot the chorus is apparently this triumph of feminist contemplation:

“She can’t sing,
She can’t dance,
But who cares,
She walks like Rihanna.”

Blimey.

A statement notes that Syko will “under go specialist throat surgery on Thursday April 18 in Los Angeles and as such will be taking an unforeseen hiatus form The Wanted”.

“The priority for Nathan, his label and management is that he is given time to recover and receive the best treatment possible.”

Nathan won’t be able to speak for at least a month, which is terrible timing considering they’re trying to record their new album but we’re sure that’s not exactly Nathan’s top priority right now.

The band tweeted this morning: “So the news is already out there but to confirm the new single is finished and we’re shooting the video on Tuesday! #NewTWSingle.”

About the name of the track, they added: ”We’ll be able to let you know very soon :).”

Look there’s not much else to say on the matter to be honest but we thought you’d like to know.

The Fusion Festival takes place on August 31 and September 1 in Cofton Park and also features the likes of Union J, Wiley, Amelia Lily, Wretch 32 and Conor Maynard, which is all very exciting.
