Prince has variously been known as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, The Artist or a stupid anchor/bugle symbol.
His first big international hit was 'When Doves Cry'. In the video he does lots of manly things like riding a motorbike, walking around with his top off and staring at lakes.
That single was taken from the album 'Purple Rain', to this day one of the best-selling albums of all-time.
He's still regarded as one of the biggest icons in pop, although his last Number One was a very long time ago.
Prince thinks the internet is completely over, and is quoted as saying: "The Internet's completely over."
He closed his official website in 2010.
He does believe in the Daily Mail though, giving them exclusive rights in the UK to distribute his 2010 album, '20Ten'.
