Nerina Pallot is from Jersey - the place, not the type of jumper.
She wrote two songs on Kylie's 'Aphrodite'. The title track, and 'Better Than Today'.
Her second album 'Fires' was a bit of a flop at first, but with a 'spangly' re-release, 'Everybody's Gone to War' reached number 14 in the charts. However the video was a bit of a mess (cleanup in aisle 14, etc).
Do not believe what Wikipedia says about 'Put Your Hands Up' being meant for Kylie. It is very much her own song, and an above-average one at that.
'Year Of The Wolf' is a very listenable album indeed, but the singles failed to make much of an impact outside of Radio 2.
