The salient points


  • Madonna practically invented the idea of women in pop. SORRY LULU.

  • Actually it is a bit patronising to say 'oh well done for being a woman in pop'. She is not just a woman in pop. She is pop. Well, she is on a good day.

  • Her run of singles in the 1980s is basically the best run of singles by any popstar ever. For example, this and also this.

  • We almost can't bear to start writing proper stuff about her, because where would you stop?

  • Mind you, the less said about 2008's 'Hard Candy' the better.

  • Thankfully, 2012's 'MDNA' was much better, despite the second single being one of the worst things of all time.
