Featuring the likes of will.i.am, Beyoncé, Sia, Fergie, Lana Del Rey, Florence ‘+’ The Machine, Emeli Sandé and er, Gotye, the album was executive produced by Mr Knowles and will be available to purchase on May 6.

The ‘Gramma (Blue Ribbon Sparkler Trailer Heaven)’ chanteuse announced the existence of her version of ‘Chelsea Hotel No 2′ via the medium of Twitter, with the following words: “new video” and then a YouTube link.

She’s right, there is indeed a new video.

Apparently only talking to BBC Newsbeat in one sentence answers, she went on to say the new songs are “a little more stripped down but still cinematic and dark” and that she’s “been working on it really slowly but I love everything I’ve done.”

“I’ve been writing in Santa Monica and I know what the record sounds like,” she said helpfully. “Now I just have to finish it.”

She also ‘revealed’ that one of the songs has a name and she’s already got an idea for the video:

“I have a song called ‘Black Beauty’ and I’ve already talked to people about making it.”

If it could be about twenty minutes long that would be great.

As with most award shows there were boring bits (thank you ‘Ben Howard’, Mumford & Sons and the seemingly endless ‘gag’ about Adele’s speech being cut off last year) and there were amazing moments such as Taylor Swift having her wedding dress ripped off, Justin Timberlake dragging a mic stand around with him for ‘Mirrors’ (seriously, what a tune) and the *NSYNC-circa-’Pop’ staging for the One Direction performance.

Anyway, you know what happened, it was quite literally on the TV. What you may not have seen however is what the press area looked like, what food was supplied, who was loitering about backstage (A*M*E basically) and who played at the Warners aftershow (SPOILER ALERT: It was ‘Fun.’).

In order to bring this information to you in a manner that is both engaging and incredibly fiddly I have been tasked with covering the night using as many different social media ‘platforms’ as possible, which would have worked better had there been any signal in the 02, but what can you do.

Of course we open with a Vine of my journey to the 02, which was meant to be longer but somehow I lost the bit where you see me getting on a bus. A real shame.

Once I go to the tube I had to wait for a friend so I wasn’t really paying too much attention when the actual Olly Murs strolled right past me, escorted by two policemen. In a tragic case of social media confusion I tried to get a picture of him but kept pressing the wrong part of my screen on my phone, thinking I was ‘Vining’, so only got this shot of him in the distance. :(

I then walked off towards the ‘action’, passing a lot of distressed-looking teenage girls who’d managed to shout something at Harry Styles, and below is merely a taste of the scene that greeted me.

Of course I also wanted to let my Google+ followers know where I was so I posted a picture of the 02 on there and sat back and waited for the ‘hangout’ fun times to start.

Literally nothing happened.

Once I’d collected my ticket and fancy pink wristband I obviously headed straight to the press room, mainly so I could actually upload some social media content to my expectant followers. I also may have helped myself to a pint or two of red wine and a cheeky sandwich, some of which you can see here via the medium of Cinemagram, which lets you create gif-like videos. The scissors look a bit menacing, don’t they.

There were people in the press room who weren’t going up to watch the actual event so everywhere you looked there were screens, all of which were showing the ‘red carpet’ action that I wasn’t allowed to get close to. Here’s a Vine of One Direction frontman Niall having a chat and laughing.

Once I’d had a sufficient enough intake of wine I took my seat on the balcony. Here’s the view.

I of course then posted a picture of my view on Instagram, adding a filter to accentuate the lighting (which was very good throughout the night, so well done whoever was in charge of all that).

Before the show actually started there was a man with a microphone telling the audience when to cheer and how loudly etc. He also went on a bit about which stairs the popstars (and ‘Ben Howard’) should walk up should they win. Here’s a bit of what he had to say. AudioBoo‘s embed thing isn’t working for some reason – apols.

Fascinating stuff I’m sure you’ll agree. I didn’t really get to do much in the way of social media stuff while the ‘show’ was on because of reception issues, but here’s a nice picture of Taylor Swift having a bit of a sing and dance in the distance.

Justin’s performance of ‘Mirrors’ was really quite something, so I decided to post a picture of him doing it on his favourite social media platform: MySpace. I would say ‘you can see that here‘, but you can only see it if you’re signed up to the new MySpace I think, so ‘apols’. Here’s a screengrab.

When Lana Del Rey won her award for Best International Female I got a bit excited and threw red wine over the cuff of my brand new white shirt. This also went on Instagram and has had two ‘likes’, one from my sister and one from ‘Cry At Films’ hitmaker Bright Light Bright Light.

This was taken on the tube on the way to the Warners party at the Savoy hotel. ‘Swanky’. By this point I was feeling quite ‘refreshed’ so sort of forgot to do much more in the way of social network updates, but I did manage to take this picture of ‘Fun.’ singing ‘We Are Young’ (Mark Ronson DJd after they’d finished and he kept playing his own productions. Amazing).

I hadn’t really tweeted that much throughout the night for some reason. When I got up this morning I checked my Twitter timeline and saw this tweeted at 2am.

So, you know, well done the Brits.
