The salient points

  • Ladytron are from Liverpool, the home of Mel C.

  • They're the sort of band who remain forever on the periphery of the electronic mainstream and the Top 40, with four consecutive singles from 'Light & Magic' and 'Witching Hour' charting at numbers 42, 43, 44 and 45, but not in that order.

  • That's about as far as they've got.

  • Lead vocalist Helen Marnie graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BA in POP MUSIC.

  • This is incredible.

  • As is this.

  • They wrote an amazing song for Christina Aguilera's 'Bionic', but it didn't make the cut, presumably because the songs that did were of far greater quality. Right? Wrong.

  • We're not sure if the music's as good any more (in fact it's probably not), but their 2011 album 'Gravity The Seducer' was still a decent listen.
