Labrinth, Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Ed Sheeran and Rudimental will also be singing various songs from their respective catalogues at the event, which was announced this afternoon at Abbey Road Studios.

The Saturdays were honoured as the best band, while Rita Ora won best solo artist. TV Personality of the year, meanwhile, went to the subdued talent that is Nicole Scherzinger.

The ‘My Shadow’ chanteuse opened up about this dislike of her own vocals to Radio 1 (quoted here) noting: “I don’t like listening to myself sing. It’s weird listening to your own song, you’ll be in Burger King or a theme park and you cringe.”

“At [a recent Morocco] festival I went to listen to Rihanna though,” she reassured us. “I like hearing her.”

Fascinating. Any information about that new album of yours Corno?

“I started writing this record on the last season of The Voice and it took up much more time than I thought. We recorded nine songs in six days about four weeks ago. I don’t feel like I’ve had time to relax and get into album mode but I think that can be a blessing, I’m a 12-6pm kind of chick.”

Speaking to Capital FM about it all, the ‘Silver Lining (Crazy ‘Bout You)’ hitmaker confirmed she’d been working with Dr Luke again and then added:

“There’s one song on the album that I didn’t write, that Ester Dean wrote, that’s with Calvin Harris – there’s a little exclusive, no one knows that – and then everything else I wrote with Claude Kelly or I wrote myself.”

That could be good.

She also confirmed that as well as Dizzee Rascal being on her new single, she also pops up on his new album, which might not be coincidence.

“And so Dizzee was obviously in talks and he’s got new stuff coming out – I’m actually on Dizzee’s record as well – so that’s exciting,” she explained. “It’s nice to always work with people that mutually there’s a respect for and we’re both on each other’s record.”

So there we have it.

1. This image is brilliant. It’s a shame they’re not using it for the official artwork but we suppose it might be a bit ‘Jesusy’ for that. Anyway we suppose the main point of the image and us saying it’s brilliant is that it’s quite bold and charismatic and unusual but also interesting, ie all the things Jessie herself is on a good day.

2. She’s done ‘Wild’ – for that is the name of the song under discussion – acoustically already. There are clips knocking around, as you may have seen, but we haven’t listened to the clips because we don’t want any ‘spoilers’ and there’s no better way of ‘spoiling’ an amazing song than having to endure it acoustically. 3. One of the main things missing from the acoustic version is Dizzee Rascal, whose hard-to-secure services Jessie has somehow managed to obtain for her new tune. (Big Sean is on it as well.) We have mixed feelings about artists making comebacks with big guest stars. It feels like it dilutes the impact of the big reveal, and Iin moments like this the spotlight should really just be on the star making the comeback. Roping in rappers isn’t a sign of weakness or nervousness per se and we’re not saying Dizzee and Sean have been introduced as a response to some perceived need to underline Jessie’s position as a more dynamic and ‘young’ artist in the face of competition from someone like Emeli Sandé, but it’s a shame ‘Wild’ won’t be the big ‘LOOK AT ME I’M BACK AND I’M AMAZING’ moment it could have been.

4. We’re not so keen on the new logo.

Although it’s quite interesting that both logos have exactly the same dimensions. (THAT’S NOT INTERESTING IN ANY POSSIBLE SENSE – THE WORLD)

5. Anyway the single’s premiering on Sunday, probably as part of some insufferable hashtag jamboree (she’s already suggested that we get ‘#WILD’), so keep your eye on Twitter over the weekend then let’s meet back here on Monday morning to discuss what’s ‘gone down’. Jessie J is generally a good pop thing so we’re hoping for a 9/10 belter here.

“I want everyone to be able to hear it,” she explained, “families to not have to skip that song in the car.”

“I was working with Britney actually at the end of the year,” he explained to The Source. “She had me come on X Factor show and do something with her, so we’ll see what happens if we get a chance to work together.”

He then just started listing people, basically.

“I am working with Mariah, I am working with Jennifer Lopez. I just finished a couple songs with Jessie J over in London and I also wrote a couple of songs that are being considered for Rihanna’s new album, so there’s a lot of good stuff happening so we’ll see.”

Blimey.

He also missed off that list The Saturdays and Kylie, but we’re sure that was just because of temporary memory loss.
