“I actually got a chance to do some recording in the same studio where Michael Jackson did ‘Thriller’,” the ‘Turn Around (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)’ hitmaker confirmed to the Daily Star Playlist.

“We did some work in there and I came up with like seven masterpieces.”

As well as playing fast and lose with the word masterpiece, he also shared his views on Rihanna, which was nice of him.

“The artist I admire right now would be Rihanna. I think she’s a rock star and worked hard to get where she’s at.”

“She has some big hits out there,” noted the Miss Marple of the money-for-old-rope rap world.

Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ ‘shifted’ over 1.3m copies in 2012, which is pretty impressive, while Carly Rae Jepsen finished second with 1.1m sales of vastly superior ‘Call Me Maybe’.

On the album chart, with virtually no promotion Emeli Sandé’s ‘Our Version Of Events’ sold 1.3m copies in 2012, over double that of the next 2012 release, Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born To Die’ which finished fourth with sales of 719,000.

Second and third on the list were 2011 releases in the shape of Adele’s ’21′ (786,000) and Ed Sheeran’s ‘+’ (784,000).

Chatting away to The Sun, Olly had this to say about how he’s perceived nowadays: “I’ve established myself as a proper artist. And it’s ridiculous when anyone questions my credibility — I’ve had four Number One singles and I’ve also sold over two-and-a-half million albums.”

“I shouldn’t have to convince people that I’m credible but I’m glad people are now taking me more seriously,” he continued.

Continuing to use the ‘c’ word, he added: “I think the success of the first two albums has catapulted my popularity and so more people are coming to see me live now, which is great, but I think this album is all about credibility.”

Putting a brilliant spin on the fact Flo Rida probably couldn’t be arsed to work with him directly on ‘Troublemaker’, Olly said:

“Flo Rida shows the art of technology. You send an email, read it, telephone him and bosh, bosh, bosh — the track gets sent on a secret file. Flo Rida gets it. In a couple of hours he goes to the vocal booth, does his thing and emails it back. We hear it, love it and mix it. Done. Bosh.”

The ‘Gotta Get It (Dancer)’ hitmaker spoke to Capital FM about this very thing (as quoted here), noting: “They hold their ground, I’m pretty sure if I get on the record I’m gonna hold my ground.”

“That’s what the fans like,” he continued, “they love seeing some things that might seem out of the norm.”

“But, we both have fans that love us and support our records to the utmost and I just think that would be beautiful for music.”

Olly Murs has put the cover ‘art’ for his new single ‘Troublemaker’ online, and there it is above.

The more astute among you will have noticed that THE HAT IS BACK and at a jaunty angle, which is basically a full house on Olly Murs Bellend Bingo.

We’ll all be able to hear the song next Monday because that’s when it’s being played on the radio for the first time.

It’s not out until November 18 mind you.

Talking to MTV US about the song, which is due out after ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ ‘goes to radio’ over there, the part-time bellend said: “So, getting Flo Rida on the record was kind of easy, in a way. [It] wasn’t hard.”

“I was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was,” he went on. “We just literally sent him the track, his people the track and they heard it and really liked it. And Flo Rida was like ‘I really want to do it.’ So he was up for doing it.”

Apparently Flo had it for a couple of days (minutes) and then “it came back and it sounded amazing. I just think the way the song is and when people hear it, they’ll understand why Flo Rida is such a perfect person to sing the song and get his vibe on it. So, it’s exciting”.

The single outsold last week’s Number One, The Script’s ‘Hall Of Fame’, by 26,000 copies. The Script have to make do with a Number 2 this week, while Flo Rida’s actually-quite-good ‘I Cry’ is up six places to Number 3.

Taylor Swift’s amazing ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ is back up again to Number 4, while Fun., David Guetta featuring Sia and Conor Maynard featuring Ne-Yo all climb into the Top 10.

On the album charts, full-time waistcoat botherers Mumford & Sons knock The Killers off the top spot with their second opus, ‘Babel’. There are also new entries in the Top 10 for BGT’s Jonathan & Charlotte at Number 5 and dance borelord Deadmau5 at Number 9.

No Doubt only managed to enter at Number 16, which isn’t great considering.

The ‘Pricle$$’ hitmaker was given some sort of plaque (as pictured here) on Daybreak.

“Thanks to all my UK fans,” he noted. “It’s amazing, so many number one records, I feel like I’m dreaming. It’s been six years and I’ve been on top of my game.”
