Discussing the music of SkyBlu and RedFoo, she said: “You know, everybody’s always saying when there’s a party song out, ‘I can write that song.’ Well, can you? Try it! It’s not that easy.”

She continued: “You have to really know what’s going on, and they know what’s going on because they’re always in the clubs. They’re always on tour and I think that’s something you should be doing as an artist nowadays. [You have to] know what’s going on in the streets [or] what are you trying to sell us? Some fake story? People don’t want to hear no fake story. People want to hear what’s real, organic.”

This is a bit rich coming from someone whose solo career was launched by a song people thought was by Rihanna, but still.

We’re giving this 7.3, which we expect to drop to a 5.9 over the coming days, rise to an 8 during June then eventually settle at a 6.2.

Remember Eva Simons, the Dutch popstrel whose cyberpop banger ‘Silly Boy’ out-Rihannad Rihanna when Rihanna had yet to reinvent herself as a post-smile deathstep emo artiste?

Well, a few months later Eva’s still wearing the same clothes but she does have another song. It’s called ‘I Want To Make Love To The World’ (ASTONISHING). It’s more euro than ‘Silly Boy’ and it is amazing.

Here she is performing the two songs on stage, in the snow. Keep your eye out for some subliminal advertising at the four minutes twenty five point.

It’s about six different recent hit records, at least five recent videos and somewhere in the region of 200 new bits all thrown into three minutes and twenty seconds of amazing 21st century pop music.

Early versions of the track did the rounds online earlier this year after Kanye West claimed it was a new Rihanna track – it’s actually by Eva Simons and will be released around the world in September.

At the very least ‘Silly Boy’ raises the bar for Lady Gaga knockoffs – that Cascada track seems to lack a certain something in comparison, wouldn’t you agree?
