When Diana Vickers auditioned for the fifth series of The X Factor, Louis Walsh referred to her as a "little hippie", which is perhaps only marginally better than "a little Lenny Henry".
She ended up finishing fourth despite being the favourite - this was either because of the whole Eoghan Quigg 'thing' or the whole barefoot handclaw 'thing' or something else. Anyway the point is she didn't win.
Vicko went on to star in the musical Little Voice, which was all very well, but what the public wanted was an album thank you very much.
'Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree' was released in January 2009 and went to Number One, as did the properly amazing Cathy Dennis-penned single, 'Once'.
Unfortunately, the other singles didn't do that well and she 'parted ways' with her label in 2011.
Before the end of 2011 Diana 'dropped' new song 'Music To Make The Boys Cry' as a freebie download and everybody wept tears of joy.
An album, produced in the main by Norwegian pop 'maestros' Donkeyboy, is expected to 'drop' in late 2012.
