• Like Madonna, Beyoncé has always been known by just one name, unlike say Janet Jackson ("Janet") or Britney Spears ("Britney"). You know what we mean.


• She was (and might well be again at some point) the main element of really very popular lady trio, Destiny's Child.


• Beyoncé became the physical embodiment of the word "bootylicious", a word she helped create through the medium of song.


• To the surprise of absolutely nobody, she decided to launch a solo career and picked the not exactly terrible 'Crazy In Love' to kick things off. The song had a little rap bit by husband-to-be Jay-Z.


• She's one of those pop stars that seems as if they may be from another planet.


• The "oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh" bit in 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' is only bettered in the best use of "oh" in a song competition by 'Crazy In Love's "uh oh, uh oh, uh oh, oh no no".


• 2011's 'Run The World (Girls)' was only a minor hit worldwide and everyone got in a bit of a panic but then the video arrived and featured a hyena and people calmed down.


• In 2012 Beyoncé became a mum for the first time and everyone went 'oh that's nice well done Beyoncé and of course congrats to you too Jay-Z'.
