Backstreet Boys are an American 'vocal group' (boyband) who formed in 1993 (!) and released their first 'international' album (ie outside the US) in 1996.
That's right viewers - they conquered places like Germany and the UK before going back home to 'do the business' in the States. That's quite interesting, isn't it?
When they finally did release an album in America in 1997 it went on to sell 14m copies. Basically, for a while they were the biggest band on the planet.
In 2002, the band went on hiatus and Nick Carter released a solo album.
Thankfully, they got back together in 2004 and continued making songs with incredible choruses.
2006 saw the departure of the tallest member of the group, Kevin Richardson.
In 2011, the band became half of the world's largest man band, NKOTBSB. It was all a bit degrading really and an admission that BSB were, by this point, a sort of heritage act whose back catalogue was the real focus of things 'moving forward'. Mind you after two decades on the job that's fair enough.
You can also go on a Backstreet Boys cruise, should you so desire. Let's hope there's no 'Drowning' HAHAHAHA.
