• Amy Winehouse was one of the best British popstars of the modern pop era.


• Her first album, 'Frank', was good in an if-you-like-jazz sort of way but not too many people seemed overly bothered with it so she hooked up with Mark Ronson, sported a preposterous beehive, sang every note like her life depended on it and created 'Back To Black'.


• The first single from said album is a bit of a classic and by 'bit of' we mean 'actual'.


• She once won five Grammys in one night.


• Her cover of 'Valerie' has become something of a modern day standard. Poor The Zutons.
