The salient points

• Aiden Grimshaw was a contestant on The X Factor 2010, where he gave his fair share of emotional performances.


• In the first live show, he sang 'Mad World' in what appeared to be a straight jacket, but it was just an ill-fitting white jumper.


• Despite being one of the favourites to win he was booted off the show during Elton John Week when more people voted for Katie Waissel. Oh dear.


• He used to style his hair in a rather dramatic quiff, but those days are sadly behind him.
