You are in: Popjustice Letters Florence and Josh Homme covering Johnny Cash

Re: Florence and Josh Homme covering Johnny Cash

Dear Sirs,

Florence is okay. She sings some good songs, some bad songs, some okay songs, and one great song.

I promise you, that in all my years, I have NEVER heard of Josh Homme. He plays hard rock, smokes lots of cigarettes and is very scary looking. Clearly, he is not my type.

Johnny Cash smoked cigarettes too, but that’s fine with me, because all his good parts outweigh that one bad part. He was no Elvis but he sung good music, wrote poems and every fucker thinks it’s cool to like him, so I like him too.

Florence likes to think she’s edgy, but Josh Homme is so edgy you get scratches just going near him.

Why, WHY mix these 3 people? I don’t understand, Popjustice?

Love from Luke (Warrington)

Thank you for your thoughts Luke. This is a very confusing letter that raises lots of points. One point it doesn't address is which of the three musicians would win in a game of Twister. And on that topic, we'd say: FLORENCE.
