Apparently that's it for Blackout now and Britney's in the studio working on new stuff.

I think that's for the best, especially if they are planning a late 2008 release for the new record.

It's a real shame that so many great songs are going to be "wasted", but yeah it probably is for the best.  Re-launch her career with a new start and put everything else behind her!

To be fair though, we got a lot more out of this era than one could have ever expected. Two big worldwide smash hits and one year after it all started there's still a music video from this project on heavy rotation to promote the third single.

Other album campaigns died after the release of the second video (Brave, Discipline...)

This is the "Access Hollywood" report:

"Britney Spears is making a cameo in a new video by the Pussycat Dolls, Access Hollywood has learned. A source close to the five piece girl group confirmed the news exclusively to Access.

"She is doing a cameo in their new video shoot today," the source said.
Spears was spotted in Burbank earlier today, where the Pussycat Dolls are shooting a music video for "When I Grow Up," the first single from their second, as yet untitled album."

So she was spotted there!

Can you imagine how fat she would look stood in the middle of the pussycat dolls?

Haha, sorry, I just have visions of her with one hand on her hip, and the other pulling a string of chewing gum out of her mouth looking confused as the others dance their asses off around her.

If she IS in it, I guess it would just be a kind of 'piece of me-esque' clip of her walking out of some club with paparazzi taking her picture.

That would make more sense than releasing a below average song from a generally amazing album.

I now await the news of her coming to our fair shores to work with Xenomania and Richard X.

Thank you Peter for all the info! As for Britney in the Pussycat Dolls video, well it's not a pairing I would have come up with!

They've performed together before:

That actually makes me really sad. I never thought I would say that (the last few months have been full of revelations like this for me -- Girls Aloud, Britney, Sophie E-B...) but this is my favourite pop album of the last year or so. It is just perfect. There could have been, like, 6 singles from it. And I never ever liked a single Britney song before. It's hard to imagine the next record could be even better.

I'm kinda afraid to play Toxic now because something tells me this time I might like it.

I say this not in my Britney-fan mode, but my fan of music mindset: 'Toxic' is definitely in her top 3, and arguments could be made to as why it's the best of her career, and why it was so important as well.

You're a Britney convert. haha.

Dont worry it's nothing to be ashamed of.  My other half 'hated' Britney until Blackout too.  I know what you mean about feeling sad about the end of Blackout.  The album had the ability to bring non-Britney fans onboard and under different circumstances could have been HUGE!

Fingers crossed for the new album.

And it's not just Toxic! I've become quite attached to "Crazy" and "Overprotected".
