Hello all. On Friday night I popped up to Sydney to see Robyn in her Australian incarnation. It occurred at the fantastic venue the Oxford Arts Factory, equipped with a nice stage, homely feel and two stunning bars. Hoardes and hoardes of good looking young people gathered from 8pm to 10pm or so - has anyone else noticed that Robyn has some particularly HOT fans? I certainly did.

Anyway, Robyn came on with her two drummers and bearded bloke on some sort of electronic machine and did an amazing show. She was just stunning. She did all the big things, With Every Heartbeat, Konnichiwa Bitches, Cobra Style, Jack U Off, Handle Me, Be Mine, Crash and Burn Girl, Who's That Girl, Keep This Fire Burning, etc.

She just really, really impressed me, what a performer! What a performer! Just loved it.

Here's some photos .

I was in attendance (and rather near you by the look of it) and yes indeed it was fantastic.

I'm a bit confused about one thing she said - that if any country would know Konichiwa Bitches, Australia would. I thought it hadn't been released here yet?

Australia, or more precisely, Triple J listeners, would know Konnichiwa Bitches very well because they've been playing it regularly for almost two years now I believe. I only know this because I know people who listen to Triple J. I would never listen to it, even if they do play Robyn. (though I must admit I do like to tune in to Roy and HG, and the wonderful Jess from www.defamer.com.au is worth listening to).

I was assuming that's how most of the people there knew her!

You should have said hello to me! And I should have said hello to you! But of course we didn't know each other then...

A friend of mine was there and said that the crowd were amazing and that the reaction she got was bigger than when he saw Kylie in Sydney.

I really think Robyn is getting ready to dominate the world.

I would have liked to have gone, but I'm under-age. Gah. Oh well...
*turns on 'Robotboy' and tries to figure out if there's a deeper meaning to it than a song about a robot boy*

Pop Trash Addicts mentions Australian Idol reject Roxane LeBrasse being at the Robyn gig. Do you know who else I'm SURE I saw?

Jason Bird from Scandal'Us, he's really short - see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scandal%27us
