Listening to those demos, i think kelly's will be far superior. Katy's voice sounds so wobbly.

I'm worried about the Katy demos, not because they could be bad but because she doesn't need to be compared to Katy. They're both completely different artists but that single cover and now Katy's leftovers on the album is just asking for a comparison.

Other songs on the album are If I Can't Have You and a response to Irvine called I Finally Got It Right. I can't wait to hear the latter.

She must be the same person. At least I hope it's Cathy.

Except Katy has basically replicated Kelly and mixed a bit of P!nk in too.

I think her demo's sound quite good and would be very good with Kelly's vocals.

Yes. That track is quite exciting actually as the other 2 writers on it are from The Runawayz and they did Keri Hilson's Energy which I do love.

Yes, but Chris Daughtry is also on it, you can't win them all I suppose!

"Breakaway" was an Avril Lavigne 'cast-off' from "Let Go" so - without having listened to the YouTube clips - I can't say I'm particularly worried that Kelly is recording some songs happened to have been 'cast-off' by Katy Perry as this sort of thing happens more often than people seem to realise.

Just because a song is 'cast-off' by one artist doesn't necessarily equate to it being a bad song.

Indeed. If her label got their way in the 'My December' era and had her singing Lindsay Lohan's 'Black Hole', that would have turned out a quite amazing song. (Dodgy sentence, sorry, it'll have to do)

I'm so glad she didn't record Black Hole, that song is shit.  I love Kelly but I don't like how she is being given cast offs.  She is worth much more than cast offs.  I'm also quite dissappointed that she hasn't written or co-written any tracks named so far.

I'm kind of curious as to what people make of the fact the title track from "Breakaway" being an Avril cast-off because it tends to have, to my knowledge, got pretty unnoticed by most people.

It is actually amazing how different a song can sound when re-arranged and given a better vocalist (see: "Bleeding Love", Leona Lewis/Jesse McCartney).

Is it any different though to record a 'cast-off' than to record a song which you didn't co-write? This whole deal with cast-offs is pretty ridiculous, they're still songs and they can still be bloody good - like has been said, see 'Breakaway'.

YAY for Cathy Dennis!

Avril's version of Breakaway is really nice though. It sounds more country influenced. It's in a different key too.

Plus Avril was barely involved in the making of the song. She recorded the song before Let Go was even being made. It was just a tester. It was never intended for the album. I think it was made even before she was signed. She recorded it in 2001.

Indeed, as long as the song ends up sounding great, then what does it matter? And it makes it all the more fun for us pop fact fans to see what song was meant for whom etc. etc.

I'm surprised to see how unpopular 'Black Hole' is here! I personally really like it and with Kelly's vocals it could have been epic. The only thing that really bugs me is when she sings "somewhere there's a universe of missing stuff". Why 'stuff'? They could have easily made it to be "somewhere there's a universe of missing love" and it would have been infinitely better!

Masquerade, Funhouse, Circus....it's all the same bloody concept.

After hearing his contributions to Funhouse and Circus, I'm convinced that Max Martin has one idea a decade and repeats ad nauseum.

I think Dr Luke has even fewer original thoughts, and is still living of re-hashes of songs he wrote five years ago.

In other words. Not excited about this album.

I couldn't agree more! I think the only exciting stuff Dr Luke has done lately is About You Now, just because it's a lot more melodic and very well written, and Britney's Circus and Shattered Glass. Hot N Cold isn't bad, but it's the same old thing...

And Howard Benson? Really? Daughtry. My Chemical Romance. Seether. Gavin Degraw. I could go on. The only reason I'm not dreading it is because of Cathy Dennis and some of the other cowriters.

Ryan Tedder is the only one I'm looking forward to.
