We (and a few other people) were sent this video last night - posted on YouTube by 'iamamiwhoami' and sent from an email account named 0098224788223158. It's a fantastic piece of film which looks unsavoury but isn't, although this other clip (which has appeared elsewhere) is best avoided if you're eating your breakfast.
"I don't know who it is but whoever the fuck it is i'm buying their album" notes one poster on the Popjustice forum, where speculation seems to have whittled it down to The Knife (who've already announced their new album so it seems a bit of an odd time to be anonymously sending out 'virals'), Goldfrapp or Christina Aguilera. We've asked our Goldfrapp contact who says "I doubt it very much, I think it's Lolly", while our Christina contact is - as they say in the business - 'checking with the Americans'. ("It’s very odd," she adds, helpfully.)
Brace yourselves for a disappointment though. It looks high budget compared with your average Girls Aloud video - the webuyanycar.com advert looks high budget compared with most - but don't forget that almost any hipster bellend with a film school 'buddy' could pull off something similar. We'll keep you posted.
