It''s been a while since I''ve heard her proper voice on a song. It''s not bad at all... for a Britney ballad.

thats the one thing i love about britney is she has one of the best voices outt here, ok not very strong, but itsvery unique and she can actually sing unlike alot of artist out there today, altho she chooses not too sing live alot, her voice is a real treat for us fans who actually enjoy her for more than just being the worlds best pop star!

    Hmm, perhaps not.

The way she sings the chorus is just plain bad "Why did you desert me?"....erg.

I think ''worlds best popstar'' is a little strong. When she is good she is good ill give her that but she needs to take sometime out of being a car crash and really concentrate on making some good music, which i really hope for the sake of her career she has done. Looking forward to hearing the new stuff though.

If the talking bit was rid of I would say that I really like the song. Oh, and gossip blogs everywhere are saying this is her big comeback single, hahahahaha.

The backing/''beat'' sounds a bit ''Stan'' to me.

Dont drive off that bridge, Britters!

    this is fascinating stuff...

i dont know that its melodically the most satisfying track she''s done, but certainly the lyrics blow the new madonna out of the water. clearly we are getting a much more mature, introspective britney than ever before. if she wrote it or not, it doesn''t matter... it reminds me, lyrically, of some of the pet shop boys stuff on Behaviour.

i dont love her voice, but the song works for me. its clearly a demo...

    i''m impressed.

    Cheetos, apparently.

As for the song... there''s no excuse for something this terrible, "demo" is no excuse... I hope this was just a complete lapse. It''s not exactly an ''Everytime'', is it.

I don''t know about "Stan", but I hear alot of "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word".

Terrible song but her voice does sound surprisingly decent, especially considering you can tell it''s a rough demo.

i''m actually really really impressed with it. the madonna track is pretty disappointing overall but this is actually very nice. Her voice is really surprising. You can hear that deeper growly style she had in all those videos we saw of her performing as a child. I hope she sounds this srong with the upbeat stuff. and I hope she comes back with the ability to sing live because I think it takes away from the effectiveness of her performances on tour..

I have it on good authority that there is a demo CD ''floating'' about, with some unfinished demos from 2004 that were not being considered for the "Original Doll" album she was planning, and were not included with the more complete songs, like "Mona Lisa." It appears someone has got hold of this CD, and is purporting it to be new songs - ''Life & Style'' apparently reported yesterday that they''d heard 9 ''demo'' clips and quoted the lyrics from this track.

It''s always been clear on all of her studio releases that her voice has been digitally altered/enhanced, maybe with the exception of "Everytime," where Guy Sigsworth''s vocal production is evident - when she first started in 1998, she was singing live on American TV shows pretty much all of the time, and you can hear the difference. It proves that she can actually sing pretty decently, despite people thinking otherwise; no, she''s not a powerhouse vocalist, but it''s as good as a lot of other pop stars.

I don''t really like the track itself - the music is OK, it''s sort of Sia-esque, but the lyrics are a bit naff. The theme for the the 5th album is still said to be "Toxic x10"!

Apparently there are 19 songs on the demo CD.

How exciting if they all leak!

I want to hear them all. Like now.

At least this song sounds like it is about her life. The last thing we need is another banger set in da club.

I love the vibe, I love her voice (except when she tries melisma--God, what shit then), and some of the lyrics are okay...others are naff.

For a not-to-be-released demo, I''d say things are looking up...

Really? She has made a career out of those records.

The song is growing on me. I really do give her voice a two-thumps up on this song.

It seems a timely release, just as she''s getting slated everywhere and there''s so much shit around her personal life a song leaks which not only reminds you of her potential but which is also quite heartfelt and reminds you that, fucked up she may be, but she''s just had 2 kids, a crappy husband and a bad divorce which has screwed her more up than before. brings a bit of humanity to the tabloid freak we see
    xx

i like it, i have to admit...but maybe just cause its not trying to be very "now" like that awful Madonna/Pharrell track which is so contrived...this is simple, thats whats quite nice about it...and it IS so like Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word..christ now when i think of the Brit track all i hear is the Elton one....i could see it turning into a decent album track in the right hands...

A globally successful artist on her fifth album should really be far beyond the stage of showing the world her ''potential''.

  24. #49
Oh god, please don''t let her release a ballad as her comeback single!

Her voice is much better suited to the up-tempo pop songs. This is because her voice is abysmal.

  25. #50
I love her studio voice, even if it is auto-tuned.

I''m not saying she has a good voice, just a very pleasent voice to listen to. I sometimes listen to ''Don''t Let Me Be The Last To Know'' just for the vocal.

It''s live she falls apart. Terrible.
There ain't a reason you and Misha B alone, tonight yeah baby, tonight yeah baby...
