It needn't have literally been about them, but it should have been based on events that have happened in their lives. A 'Live and Kicking' parody instead of an X Factor spoof, for example.
Or they could've just done a stage version of Spiceworld The Movie.
Because the other pop musicals feature songs that everyone knows, regardless of their age, and are enjoyable as an entity in their own right. The Spice Girls and their music are intrinsically linked, and mostly loved by people within a particular age range.
Melanie C solo album query;
Northern Star was released three times in the UK between 1999 and 2000. I'm struggling to find a difference between pressing one and two. ie;
CDV2893 - 12 tracks, standard packaging
CDVX2893 - 12 tracks, standard packaging
CDVY2893 - 14 tracks, adds single mixes of Never Be The Same and I Turn To You.
Does anyone know why it was repressed/re-released and what the difference(s) between the first two are?

Northern Star: Autistic Special Woolworths Tour Edition out now. Each track lasts 2 seconds longer, which makes all the difference for those in the know. There's also a spot the spelling error 'game' in the thank you notes.
I totally agree that the musical should have made nods to the girls themselves if not actually based on them. Basically, if I had went to see this mess of a show I'd have been deciding in my head who was who anyway (and of course rolling my eyes at them all the way through).
If those stats are true, that's still a 76% attendance rate, with all those evenings and matinees - surely that isn't bad for a West End show?
Most tickets were around £70, cheapest seats and deals meant some were as cheap as £37 - premium seats went for close to £90. That means actual gross must be over £8million, probably closer to £10million.
I have not seen the restaging yet, but from all accounts so far, it does not seem all that drastic (I saw it at the previews).
"W.O.M.A.N." should have been released and it should have been a single as well. It's a shame that fans won't get to hear a studio version.
“I am the only man who can say he's been in Take That and at least 2 members of the Spice Girls.” - Robbie Williams
The second half of this video... yikes, when did Vicky become such a kill joy?
"Is there such a place as Indo-China?" - Nadine Coyle.
This video shows how Victoria was once the girl with a huge smile and now she is just so "professional"...
“Don't just think, okay? That's an extremely unattractive feature of your generation."
I'd love that old track, W.O.M.A.N. released.
“I heard it. I immediately was so sick by it and upset that I turned over and went back to sleep.”
Spice fans rejoice! Do Viva Forever right. Create your own Spice Musical :)
If we had gotten W.O.M.A.N. fans would have lost their shit for all of five minutes and then barked "They couldn't even bother recording anything new for us" and we would all now be conspiring about "I'd give ANYTHING to hear Voodoo right now"
I'm just holding out for the sessions they did with Elliot Kennedy for the third album before they tried to be TLC and some of the racier stuff they didn't place on the first album. It'll all end up coming out one day.
You got used to my touch.. I got used to not feeling much.
I LOVE that moment, there are just no other popstars who behave like that currently. But yeah, it's also a clear example why Victoria shouldn't be part of the group if they want to continue...it's better for her to stay away if she's going to keep that attitude.
- Say 'hi' to Victoria!
- Hi.......hi.
