I see the logic in that but literally *nobody* knew this was out, so I highly doubt this would have registered on their radars without it being slid under their noses.
Been there, done that, t-shirt didn't fit.

Matt Cardle's album is now officially holding up better than Glassheart.

    $ucce$$.

Sounds like something to report on to me.
And how would you explain the press picking up on Leon or Shayne? It's obvious that these articles are deliberately being pushed by Syco.

During the "Echo" era, when the album was struggling internationally, a couple of similar articles appeared but would magically disappear. Not the case this time.

There's always the fact that millions of people voted for these people to win possibly the biggest show in the UK, all of them probably gathering millions of votes. So not being able to translate those votes in sales is something quite interesting to pick up on actually.

And there's always the time old tradition of the press loving the downfall of any celebrity.

Why would she even care what they release? It's not like she had some kind of deep artistic involvment.

What do you consider to be "deep artistic involvement"? She co-wrote on most of the album and artists always have their favorite songs. For all we know, maybe she didn't even want "Lovebrids" to be on the album and the label overruled her.

Cause they knew 'Lovebird' was going to be such a massive commercial hit?

    Yup.

When it leaked a while ago, wasn't it rumoured as the new single? I vaguely remember hearing it being played in some meeting, or something? I get the impression the label have had faith in this song for a while.

Of course artists have favourite songs, but how do you know that Fireflies was not also chosen by the label at first and then they just changed their mind?

    She did promote Lovebird.

Lewis first performed Lovebird at the switch on of the Christmas lights at Oxford Street in London on 5 November 2012. She then performed the song on UK breakfast show Daybreak on 23 November, on Loose Women on 29 November 2012,[21] and on Metro Radio Live on 30 November 2012. She also performed on the National Lottery Awards on 8 December 2012. On 12 December 2012, Lewis performed "Lovebird" live for the first time in continental Europe, performing on La Voz (the Spanish version of TV talent competition The Voice)

Oh we know that. And the performances were...shaky for a vocalist of her caliber.

I'm just reminsicing about how UTTERLY BAD this song performed, it's just a real shame.
It must have been so embarrasing for a woman who released Bleeding Love (one of the greatest ballads of this century) to then release a song that barely made it into the top 200 and also her seeing herself slagged off in the Daily Fail for her flop single.
Seriously, I wonder if she cried about this because I sure would if I was her.

First of all, Lovebird is a great song but it isn't singleworthy at all as it comes across as bland to the public. SYCO were incredibly idiotic to not release Glassheart as the first single as it would've shown a different side to what Leona's like and her music instead of the normal ballads. It seems to me that Leona had no control over the singles she wanted to release and had to go by what SYCO wanted which was for her to basically fail by releasing two songs which both flopped.
Thank Heavens she's finally seen sense and left that disastrous label and moved onto a proper one which would lead her down the correct path.

Another problem with Leona is that she's not really outgoing.
All she mostly posts on Twitter and Instagram is about her dogs, horses and rabbits and it's fine to have an interest in such stuff but she should post more about her music and less about her pets as most people are interested in her and her music only. She also needs to appear more on chat shows like Graham Norton, Alan Carr etc. to get her name out there more and try to change the public's personality of her, maybe even take selfies with really famous people and so on.

She also needs to stop taking so long to record an album like how Glassheart took 2-3 years. 1 year - 1 year, six months should be enough for recording and she needs to try and be featured in more songs with artists like John Legend, Mary J Blige, Calvin Harris and so on as she could also get more popular through them.

She has so much potential and it would be heartbreaking to see her go to waste.

I agree, Simon has cared about money and that's it. Leona was his golden girl but as soon as OneDirection came along, they were making more money than Leona and then Simon snubbed her.
It's all about money for him and him treating Leona like a fool during the Glassheart era was unfair.
