Well, I found one member of the band online and have sent her a message. Fingers crossed she has a load of old spare promo CDs for me! Ha.

I've got an album sampler on itunes I think - they were great. Spin The Bottle (not the Rachel song), was amazing, as was Naked.

I saw them live at Pride 2002, the one with a myriad postars present and 80s.
They did a 3 song set and were amazing.

    Naked was amazing.

OK... Melodi Brown. I've dug deep. Perhaps this thread could be moved to Retro Pop? But until then...

They were Zahra, Kemi, Kelly Ann, Stefanie. They were managed by Brown Sugar Management and were to release their debut single, the Bloodshy And Avant produced 'Naked', on 9th September 2002 via Polydor. It was shelved indefinitely and by December 2002, Polydor focused on a new girl band... Girls Aloud. Melodi Brown were put on the back burner and eventually dropped without ever releasing a single or album. They split up and 3 of the 4 girls left the industry. One of them, Zahra, auditioned for X Factor a couple of years back and continues to sing and work in the industry in a minor way (backing vocals, dance stuff).

They recorded a lot of tracks, including a version of 'Naked' featuring Ms Dynamite, 4 of which made it onto an album sampler called 'Skin!' (Naked, Never Knew My Baby, Spin The Record, Skin), as well as Do Somethin' (Britney Spears), DJ (Jamelia) and Spin The Bottle. I hope to have some of these tracks sent to me on a CD, as well as some photos and magazine clippings, by one of the members! I shall report my findings...

They were ahead of their time, stylistically too.
They wore military gear for their Pride slot, like what Madonna wore on American Life the video.
