'Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful'
That aside, I don't think people really hate her, they just get some odd joy out of joking about anyone who flops.

I've never understood why there is so much hate for Keri Hilson - It's almost become cool among people to despise her. Her songs are not the best but they are far from LMFAO/Pitbull awfulness. Plus she has written great tracks for others. So explanations plz?

I didn't like her at one point because of this hair. But I'm indifferent to her really, she's not to my taste, but I do think most of the disdain just comes from her flop status. If Beyoncé wasn't successful she'd be treated the same way, I imagine.
She does need to sort her weaves out though.
She's made some very good R&B songs, such as Hurts Me, Hustler, So Good, All the Boys, Energy, etc. - but her direction has been messy to say the least. She ends up with 1294832 singles and not one ever really has its moment, bar Knock You Down, which many link with 2 male superstars being on the song.
If she showed a little control and finesse she could be bigger.

I am chilled dear.
No one 'despises' Keri Hilson, I think by now it's just tradition that she's the butt of everyone's jokes. No one is seriously cruel to her because that would be like kicking someone when their down. It's a sort of "well at least it's not this bad" situation. Hard to explain, but she's just part of stan culture now.
We don't hate you because you flop, you flop because we hate you.

She has a nasty ass attitude and is devoid of humility, from all I've seen in interviews.
(Having said that, I have cherry-picked a few of her songs on iTunes).
Oh, and given that she's an r'n'b/pop star, her starting a feud with Beyoncé wasn't the best of ideas to alienate her audience.
You can basically make a flawless EP of her two albums:
1. Get Your Money Up
2. How Does It Feel
3. Buyou
4. Alienated
5. Energy
6. All the Boys
7. Knock You Down
The Disney Girls.
Reading about the Beyonce/Keri Hilson feud made me like Keri more than ever before! I really do think her Pretty Girl Rock video is one of the best videos ever.
I've got the master action and boy you don't own me, not one bit.
I love the tributes in Pretty Girl Rock.

Beyoncé
That's all folks.
Keri is better than Beyonce.
Pretty Girl Rock is a shit song though. But she does have some wicked songs.. The Way I Are, Knock You Down, Lose Control...she's pretty alright, there's far worse people to bash than her you know. Harmless.
If your fave looks cheap, you look cheap.
She's a joke. She just...is.

I don't think enough people know of her to even be able to say that "people despise Keri".
There is only one Queen of Pop, and she does not share power!
I actually like her and her songs to be honest. I can laugh at the flop jokes now again if they're funny like that Animorphs one but people who constantly go for her, I don't get it really.
Ok I was being a bit hyperbolic with 'despise' but I do get the answers here.
I wouldn't call it "hatred", more disrespect (perhaps ?).
I think it started from an old (alleged) rumour that if you added up all the hours and minutes Keri Hilson has spent (in her lifetime) standing in the vocal booth of a recording studio versus the amount of time she has spent on her knees, under the mixing desk in return for supposed "hot" tracks/ writing credit attachements, then the amount of time in the vocal booth would not win.
It is my understanding that the lyrics to "Return The Favor" are the true meaning and a subtle reference to (the latter) style of working, I personally don't have a problem with either scenario.

Her music is great, but she's known for throwing some shade here and there and just comes of as a bitter bitch to me.
