Speaking of 50 Words For Snow... I found this to be quite special.

Graeme Thomson, the 'Under the Ivy' author, just tweeted:
So, a 2-CD Kate Bush Greatest Hits + video collection on DVD on the way. About time : http://www.pauseandplay.com/upcoming.htm
I don't know how reliable that site it. It says ""Revisiting The Whole Story [CD/DVD]" (22 tracks and limited double CD/DVD featuring 35 videos; producer: Bush; first single: "Running Up That Hill 2012")"

About time! Though I don't want her "Revisiting" anything. Just give us a remastered, expanded "Greatest Hits" in their original form. I can cope with one new version for promotional purposes, but leave everything else alone. A 35 track DVD sounds very special.

Re-visiting would be more interesting though, wouldn't it?

I mean, we already have all the original recordings.

That 35 track DVD would be more than welcome! I hope they can come up with a better title than "Revisiting The Whole Story".

I hope the DVD contains the proper video to Wow that is on The Single File VHS. She apparently doesn't like the video which is why there is a live montage on The Whole Story VHS and her youtube channel.

Well I'd take that site with a pinch of salt.. En Vogue to release a new album? I don't think so. But this is probable. Kate just can't keep anything under wraps, can she?!

  8. #33
No reworkings, please. Although she could call it "This Woman's Reworkings", I suppose.

Yes, we all have the originals, but not all the albums have been (widely) released as remasters.

Please do not let this be another NTSC ("Never the same colour twice") disc disaster !

PAL FORMAT DVD KATE PLEASE ! ! !

Running Up That Hill 2012 is out next week: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Running-That...1/zetaminor-21

A day after the closing ceremony! *dares to dream*

  11. #36
Oh god, will she turn up?! *dies*

  12. #37
It sounds.... no different? Oh well. Maybe that's a good thing?

Well, it could just be Amazon not putting out a proper sample of the new version?
Leaving out hideous expressions like 'Kelendria' (who even is that?) would be a good start. - Someboy re: Kelly Rowland's birth name

  14. #39
It sounds like the 12" mix actually...
    Kissy Kissy, Anfunny

    Well I guess that:

    a) Kate and her Fish People could not have provided a sample of the new version to Amazon in time of them putting this up.

    b) There is no new version. There will be a special Olympics video of Jude Law et al dancing around to this. *

    * probable :-(

It sounds like it could be a new vocal just as the preview cuts off. There's no "It".

  17. #42
Maybe she should just re-record everything and get it out her bloody system. It's very boring for me to heard re-recordings of songs I love. I'd really like her to focus on something new again and stop beggering about with the past.

  18. #43
So it could be true that she'll turn up at the Olympics?

Also, I know this is probably considered blasphemy, but I think I actually prefer the re-working of This Woman's Work. The original is slightly too saccharine/Enya. The re-work is gloriously intimate and touching.

    More speculation, from Gigwise:

    http://www.gigwise.com/news/75295/ka...osing-ceremony

They link to the '2012 RUTH remix', but it's a ten-year old bootleg.

Part of me wants her to perform. And part of me is terrified.

I don't know how I'll handle the criticism if her vocals are flakey and she hasn't brushed her hair, etc.

If she is there, I'm confident she'll be amazing.

This is the last time she sang live, and I think it was widely praised.

  22. #47
That was a decade ago and before Director's Cut and it's lack of big notes....

  23. #48
I'm pretty sure she could sing Running Up That Hill without a problem today.

The only problem I see in this is that Kate is, erm, comfortably plump these days. But who cares? A live Kate Bush performance - YES MOTHAFUCKING PLEASE!

Maybe she'll make a deal with God, and be hitting all those notes with no problem.

I have no idea who this guy is but I saw this posted somewhere...

tomdyckhoff: I'm so glad the Kate Bush at the closing ceremony secret is out. I was self combusting trying to keep it. *still screaming*
tomdyckhoff: @ollywainwright Has John Outram designed the Kate Bush stage? Must be!
ollywainwright: @tomdyckhoff all will be revealed...
    tomdyckhoff: @ollywainwright Oooooh, whooo?
ollywainwright: @tomdyckhoff and I have a feeling I know who's designing the elaborate stage set contraptions on which she will be performing...
