I find that when I use PJ at work using internet explorer 8 it's the slowest site. It can take 2-3 minutes for a page to load whereas other sites are fine. When I use it on my iPhone the forums are slow to load and the text goes blurry, but all is fine when I use it for my MacBook. strange.
It's = it is/it has. Its = its.
These experiences really scare me, as the forum's always really quick for me, but now I have nightmares that suddenly that's no longer going to be the case, and I'm going to experience it the same way as some of you guys... And I don't think I'd have the patience.
Just a heads up, the forum is asking me to download skeleton.js.

I've generally been content with my PJ experience since forum armageddon save for those first miserable few weeks when nothing worked, but my only complaint is using PJ on my iPhone.
Like others have said, it's an absolute pain trying to even post a post or switch a page because 9 times out of 10 whenever I try to do one of those two things, the website crashes itself and my Safari goes kaput. Try to open the Safari again, and it goes kaput in the loading process. Try a third time to re-open PJ, usually the Safari defaults itself and kills off all my pages, returning to one singular blank page.
An app would be an amazing addition and be of such great usage for myself on my daily commutes, but I understand there's other more important things on your plate at this moment in time. Some point in the near future though, it would definitely be a positive step in increasing viewing figures to the forum and wider website.
Yeah because Lady Gaga is the only pop star of this generation to have an iconic anthematic song. California Gurls says hi. *Eye roll*
What is ACTUALLY the problem here? Why does it crash for ages on a regular basis and nothing changes? Why did we change the forum if this was going to keep happening?
Because the database was fucked up on the last one, and instead of starting from scratch they migrated it to the new one, which didn't fix much at all.
So, basically, we're never getting an answer on any of this stuff, are we?
I don't know if it was in this topic, but Peter did give an answer recently on here, how all of it is still being worked on, but he unfortunately also has other jobs to do to make sure people can eat and all, so unfortunately there's no resources to keep working on the forum day after day until it's entirely fixed. Available free moments will be used for it though, it's still very much on a 'to do' list.
Oh yes sorry, I remember that now. I still don't get why he doesn't find someone to do all this tech-y stuff for him. Maybe a temporary admin or something.
I've offered my help twice, but got no response. I guess it's a really high priority thing...
Well there you go!
Blodskur has also offered to help if I'm not mistaken. Clearly there's people on the forum who have the know-how and would be willing to help for free / little money (not to speak on anyone's behalf).
If that's the case they can pay someone to do it in person.
I never asked for money. I can do the stylesheet tweaks so the visual bugs/annoyances will be gone.
Well since money is one of the reasons it hasn't happened yet I doubt that.
As for why volunteers haven't been used.. I have no idea. Though I suppose instructing someone how you want everything to look/work/function sometimes can end up being just as time consuming as doing it yourself.
I have no idea, but even if that's the case, perhaps it's a good thing? It might be better to have someone independent of the forum to come in and do the work.
I'm sure there are several qualified people on the forum who could do the work, and them not being asked probably has to do with a host of reasons that has nothing to do with them!
Meet your new stepmom, kid.
What difference does it make if it's someone independent or a member of the forum?
I can tell you - if one of us did it it would have been done ages ago. Now we're stuck with a "usable" forum full of bugs, just because Peter is too paranoid to let some of the members help him.
