If we had subtext and strikethrough I would use that to say that I prefer this design of the forum to the last...
My main thing is the white text-on-white, also yeah some people are just being mean.

You're the only one reporting it as "painfully slow" and "buggy" yes theres a reporting issue, that can be fixed! Most of the other issues are with new members and the lack of moderation and enforcement of the (currently non-existent) rules. This can also be fixed.
The rest is to do with style and template issues. This can fixed too.
And yes there are those few people who're still crying themselves to sleep because we're not still in the 2006 web 1.0 layout.

I think the views and replies count is messed up too, not that it's a big deal but worth taking note. As in the views only coincide with the amount of replied posted. Look at the "No GIF'S" topic for instance.
There's not really much point in trying to articulate all the issues with the new forum. If they get fixed, great. If not, more people will just quietly cut down their time here and/or leave. It's a shame the people bothering to express the things which aren't working for them are just belittled; maybe the Gaga/Britney/Girls Aloud threads/areas are still okay, but in the other parts of the forum it's like the heart's been ripped out of the place. Lots of the regulars have gone AWOL or only manage to successfully log-in and post very infrequently. This is not me saying this, it's them. People cannot use the forum like before, and that's having a major detrimental effect.
Change is fine. I don't care what a new forum looks like, but it has to work. This is just crap.

No one is belittling you. You say its slow for you, I believe you, but its not an experience the majority of users have had since they switched to a better server.
I'm not really sure where these people are saying all this because so far as I can tell the issues brought up in this thread are mostly to do with the moderation issue and a few stylesheet errors. There's nothing stopping people logging in and posting, I'm not really sure why you think there is a problem there.
Where are all these people telling you they can't log in/post? Because we seem to be managing it?

Do you visit the Old Pop and Lists sections? Maybe younger members use iPhones or some other method than a PC; obviously whatever the reasons causing the problems are not universal because nowadays there isn't one (or even a couple) of ways to access and use the internet.
I don't personally feel belittled because those comments weren't directed at me. But people here still deserve better than that.

That's where the majority of members have either left, don't post much, or have explicitly said that they have problems using the site. Maybe the main pop threads are fairly unaffected, but in there the heart's been ripped out of discussions ever since the change.
I was also going to post of screenshot of a random page on here, where the whole screen is taken up with pointless, oversized banners, headings and giant text, so that you have to scroll down beyond the dimensions of the screen (17" PC at 1024x768) before anything new is even visible. It's hopeless.

You all know Peter just doesn't give a shit any more, right?
Now now IotV let's try to stay positive.
It's obvious though. Has anyone even seen SockMonkey these days? I know Someboy is about, and Mvnl seems to pop up a bit, but realistically there isn't anyone 'at the top'.
ANARCHY. I'm shotgunning the Alexandra Burke threads.
SockMonkey just posted the other day actually. I assume he's still around even if he doesn't post as much.
I think the suggestion that PJ appoint a temporary admin or someone who can fix all these issues is a good one. If Peter doesn't have the time then surely someone else can fix it?
I'd love for the search function to finally be fixed.
Are you lot talking about the OLLY MURS IS A CU box? You don't use that... you use this: http://www.popjustice.com/forum/search.php
If you're talking about how good/bad that search is, then there is nothing to be done. It's just crap. Google is a great one to use, but you can't use it now because all the forum URLs and links have changed.
The search does work, it's just hard to find.
You need to select "advance search" and then sort by "Search Titles Only". Then it will work. And actually much faster than the old search, but as I said, with the layout in the state it's in that's hardly apparent to anyone.
Really? Did you do it through the "search forum" drop down?
Aside from the glitches I think it's fair to say that somehow the switch-over spurred some extra-insanity into the standard of posting (I'm quite possibly as guilty as some of the users I have in mind).
Perhaps the rules need redrafting?
Aside from "no smilies", "no text-speak", I would also suggest a cut-down on stan wars and in-jokes. 50% of the time it's done in a humorous fashion, but the other 50% just makes the place really unpleasant. A line needs to be drawn somewhere.
I don't know, I'm probably talking crap. There's just a bad atmosphere hanging around the place at the moment. The new members have been a great addition, and we've only lost a few really notable old ones. I don't even particularly dislike any particular individuals, and I'm sure there will be a few who think that I contribute nothing a lot of the time, but I think some new standards need setting. There's been many an instance where users pick on others and take it further than a healthy debate should go.
Is anyone else feeling this or am I just being mardy?
"Spit ya fluidest, Bitch..."
The whole Tinychat thing is the best and worst thing to happen to Popjustice. The worst because it's a cesspool that insists on using the sites name to bring it down to levels that even ATRL haven't reached yet. The best because it effectively exposes those certain members who have managed to fly under the radar thus far as the troublemakers they are.
All in all, I just think having a rules page back up would help with those that may have 'forgotten' what they are and I feel the whole 'Tinychat crew' will be dealt with eventually. Hopefully the technical glitches will be addressed as well.
One Tinychat crew member down, several to go...
Replying with GIFs is like arguing with a tree - really boring.
To be fair though, you do stir up the pot a lot yourself as a troublemaker. Whilst I agree that the "Tinychat crew" have the mindsets of jumped-up hyperactive children, it's often in reaction to something incendiary you or others have put.
I think the nostalgic sulking for times gone by is a bit unnecessary. Sure a few people have left us behind, but we're currently at our best right now than we have been since forum armageddon, and it's only getting better. Ignore those that you feel bring the mood down, enjoy the company of the good eggs that we have still on board.
Yeah because Lady Gaga is the only pop star of this generation to have an iconic anthematic song. California Gurls says hi. *Eye roll*
There's a difference between just 'stirring the pot' from time to time and being so vile as to bully and attack people based on their personal lives, music, what have you and have intentions of forcing them out of the forum though isn't there? I'm not claiming to be perfect but I will proudly say I've never stooped to those levels. I'm not going to argue about it because I just feel strongly about my point of view.
