Right, anyone remember this band from way back in 1987/88?/ They were incredibly succesful in a short space of time, having top 5 hits across Europe and America over a 12 month period. Then Clark Datchler, the lead singer, left in Sept 88 for the obligatory solo career, which basically flopped like so many before it.

Then he went AWOL.Nobody could find him at all,no new pictures surfaced after about 93,and he was forgotton about.Ish.

    Well,now hes resurfaced............as a red Indian!!

Check this out,its one of the weirdest transformations ive ever seen!!

    www.nightfoxx.com

And if anyone actually bothers to click the link, and finds themselves wondering where hes from...

He was born and raised in Wimbledon.

    Welcome back Clark

This looks absolute shit destined to fail.

He was doing New Age bollocks at Real World Studios about 6 six years ago. I presume this is it?

He look's like every city's resident paedophile.

Jesus, you should hear his re-recording of "Shattered Dreams"! Fucking awful.

  6. #6
On his myspace page,he writes about the re release of shattered dreams, saying for the single he used the name 'Clark Datchler AKA Nightfoxx' so he could break his fans time to get used to the new name!!

Like everyones sitting round going 'Nightfoxx?? whos that?? oh!! its Clark Datchler!!! of course!!'

Wow, thanks for posting this. "A highly contempory version of Shattered Dreams"? When was the website written, 1991? Its just missing that "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss" drum loop.

However, as the entire JHJ Turn Back The Clock is fantastic, I should show more respect. Welcome back from the dumper!

Sounds like they haven't changed in 24 years! Is it still the original line-up?

Calvin Hayes has left the band. Clark Datchler and Mike Nocito are still in the band.

It looks like the new Johnny Hates Jazz album will see the light of day this March. Here is part 2 of a televised interview with the band's lead singer Clark Datchler:

Always thought he was insane leaving the band after one album. All that success wasted. It was a very pleasant album with some good singles (and Kim Wilde on BVs as a bonus).

Nice to see they have put their differences aside for some new material.

That video! Poor Clark, trying to give some real insight into into making music in the lates 80's early 90's and you've just got Pat Sharpe mugging away.

Absolutely love the Turn Back The Clock album, still play it today, just full of some great pop songs.

Actually quite like the new stuff, however, that's probably because its sounds like the follow up to Turn Back the Clock that has just sat in a vault for 20-odd years. However, the lyrics are absolutely dreadful!

Turn Back The Clock was one of the last great, traditionally-constructed 80s pop albums. It still sounds great.

Apparently Clark had decided to leave even before the album was complete. Wish it hadn't taken them over 20 years to get back together.

wasn't particularly impressed by Pat Sharpe. Clark is actually quite an interesting guy to chat with. I interviewed him and Mike from Johnny Hates Jazz last summer. Clark has some very interesting insights with regard to the music industry. If you are interested, you can hear that interview with them right here: https://soundcloud.com/radio-creme-b...azz-aug17-2011

That interview is uncomfortabl viewing. Pat Sharp is acting as if he's on Tiswas or something while Clark is more South Bank Show, totally mismatched.

Thank you so much. It's really nice to have this kind of validation. Thanks once again! Hopefully my foreign accent wasn't too annoying. Living away from America for 14 years does that to your accent!!!
