I have tried searching for the old topic and it seems like it's not on the forum. If you can find it, feel free to merge and delete this.

I got my Insatiable CD out again today and gave it another listen, not heard it all in full like that a while. Here's my thoughts.

It is a very good songwriters album and showcases her vocals off quite well. It's a given that people prefer the first half to the second half of the album. I heard Nadine said in a interview that an album should start off upbeat and end downbeat so maybe thats why. I thought Runnin, and Put Your Hands Up where single worthy material. Insatiable i still like as much as i always have. Chained was good but not quite stumpy enough to be single material. Red Light was like a GA style pop masterpiece and ha ha at the bit 'making my reputation for making music not magazines'. Sexy Love Affair sounds more of a b-side to me. Lullaby is good but abit generic. You Are the One and Natural where the weaker songs on the record i thought. I was very impressed by Raw and Rumors. Unbroken was impressive considering she wrote it all by herself. Make A Man was a nice album ender. All in all i'd give Nadine a B+ 7.5/10 - this is a good record that with some tweaking could have been even better.

Sweetest High could have been a good replacement for one of the weaker songs on the record i feel also. Nadine did good with this. Shame she didn't thank the girls in the thank yous...the artwork really is immaculate very impressive considering she had no record company help. I look forward to a 2nd record hopefully near the end of next year and hopefully with a proper record company. Nadine always will have potential to be a huge star for me, it's about making the right choices and i dont think she always has.

Anything actually happening though since Sweet n' Low flopped?

Do you mean Sweetest High!? No.

Nadine has been writing i hear from twitter for a 2nd album, but no details are confirmed. I presume she'll do it at the end of next year. I just hope she gets a deal with Universal which is not likely, but she really needs to overhaul her styling and image, musical direction, opinion on dancing which is essential now days and needs to aim toward a more mature adult market - maybe make an album like Emeli Sande, Rebecca Ferguson or Adele. I dont think dancy pop suits her at all. I think she needs new management and a label at the least. She needs to do this once the reunion ends and needs to start exploring avenues non-singer ones like the other girls. She's been virtually unseen the UK since her release. Maybe presenting? endorsements? acting? just something...

I do think her attitude has changed and bettered, she seems lots more supportive of the girls now and i think they've all patched things up now which is nice. I really think Hillary Shaw and Polydor should work together for her. She's proven she's flopped so they might not want to, but she has the potential to be big with the right songs. She needs to stop fixating about writing the songs yourself, she needs to get better writers to write FOR her and Polydor could probably do that.

I really think Nadines career should have started with a duet with James Morrison on Broken Strings. But obviously Universal wern't that bothered about her as much as thought... I also gave that Jade Ewen album a listen to some good songs there including Wake Up, Punching Out and Burn It Up. The rest i'd leave but they where OK choices for her now.

Wasn't the duet with Girls Aloud and not just Nadine?

I really think Nadine could have pulled off Forgive Me or Bad Boys perfectly.
Emeli sande's songs Next To me, My Kind of Love, Suitcase and Read It All About are also good uns for Nadine in a dream land. Where I Sleep is a good un too

I would an EP for later on this year...oh come on Nadine!

No i mean instead of Nelly Furtado they should have had Nadine.
It would have been the perfect launching pad for her.
I know who would say no to Nelly, but the same could be said about will.i.am he could have had USA Megastars but he got cheryl for UK, so Nadine could have done the UK version and Nelly the international.

I know GA did it on the GA Party but i think it should have been a duet AS A SINGLE for Nadine and James without Girls Aloud - just like Heartbreaker was.

Okay, I understand now. But that was never going to happen as James personally requested Nelly as they are friends.
