America's Next Top Model Cycle 19 "College Cycle"

OK so here we go again. The winner has been crowned for Cycle 18 so onto the next one. Starting in the fall sometime (October I think). Well things are very different this time around...

- No more Nigel.

- No more Mr & Ms Jay.

- One new judge, one new creative director.

- We have sort of a presenter in the judging room, Bryan Boy.

- YOU are now the 4th 'judge', you can send in comments via text or video on the photo shoots that will be show at panel to the girls and judges.

Here are the 30 semi-finalists of Cycle 19:



The new judge, Rob Evans joins Tyra and Kelly to make the first ever panel of 3. The new creative director, Johnny Wujek (obviously not Katy Perry) will take Mr J's position.

So what do we make of all this 'new'?

Everything was fucking awful until I saw Rob Evans. I can sacrifice the show going from bad to worse if I can look at that every week.

Not sure about the new format. Tyra looked great in that preview clip and this Rob Evans is hot so it feels like half the battle is won.

Uhmm...okay. Wouldn't this ruin the whole suspence of who's winning, as well as the photo shoots (in other words, the whole reason to watch)? If you go here, you see the voting page. And as new photos go up every 3-4 days (I assume, looking at the voting rules), wouldn't there be one girl missing each time? AKA. we know who wins months in advance, plus we've seen all the photoshoots. Or am I missing something? Doubt this will be live.

Yes, this show desperately needs a revamp, but so far it looks worse than ever.

From discussion on other forums I've gathered all 12 girls will stick around and record confessions and shoot pictures even if they're out. I have no idea how that's gonna work though.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Plus it ruins the photo and what the shoots are, kind of stupid to be honest.

That's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure. I guess most of them stay as decoys anyway so it's all the one?

This new format doesn't make much sense, so at least it might be nejoyable hot mess. Rob Thomas is gorgeous, so that's another plus.

Kelly Cutrone is the only saving grace I believe... She makes good TV.

It was bugging me who Victoria reminded me of, I see it now! I don't know if she's being pimped out to be the bitch or a Top 3 girl.

Kristen is short, and probably will be the bitch but turned out some great photos throughout the competition. Laura's photos are fab (eg. her Steampunk shot and her Jail photo), and I'm glad she seems so likable so I feel like I can root for her. Nastasia is one to watch, as is Brittany who has loads of potential. And of course, the girl who I cannot believe is on this show and somehow is not signed already: Leila. She's got a great, strong look, and has turned out some great photos. It will be interesting to see who Tyra eliminates (and brings back), and whether she actually listens to the voters.

I agree. Leila should not need this show. Still want her to win though...

I've always been such a huge Top Model fan, and I didn't even realise this had premiered until today! At least I got two episodes in a row to watch. But it was such an awful mess. I wouldn't even know where to start... Seems like Tyra has completely lost touch with the outside world.

Is it weird that I'm enjoying this revamp? I like the math involved, I enjoy all the twists in format due to the online voting element (super stoked about the comeback contest with the eliminated girls), and the newbies aren't so bad. Rob is heaven on the eyes and ears, I love Kelly always, Johnny Wujek is great (super cute in his hats), and the blogger guy is totally weird and I love it! Hahaha
