Paris Hilton - I Want You

Especially: "When you're looking like that and I'm feeling like this you make head spin around and I wanna kiss"

I'm sure there are more, that's just what first came to mind.

EDIT: Oh, the bridge in Britney's Get Back is ridiculously good also.

    Overprotected!

I DON'T NEED NOBODY TELLING JUST WHAT I WANNA, WHAT I WHAT WHAT WHAT I'M GONNA, DO ABOUT MY DESTINY

And Stronger. And Sometimes. And Baby One More Time. And Born To Make You Happy. Britney's middle 8s just crush everything in sight.
Yeah because Lady Gaga is the only pop star of this generation to have an iconic anthematic song. California Gurls says hi. *Eye roll*

In the most biblical sense, I am beyond repentance
One more for exotic bird bingo.

Bad Romance, mainly the bit just after the "Walk Walk fashion baby..." bit, and then she starts babbling in French just because she can, and then everything stops and she just screams the "WANT YOUR BAD ROMANCE" bit, honestly, that made an already jaw-dropping song , perfect.

And the repition of "They are so wasted on myself" in Nero's Promises is briliant.

    No Doubt - Making Out
    Garbage - Temptation Waits
So you like show tunes? That doesn't mean you're gay. It just means you're AWFUL!!!

The middle eight to California King Bed is absolutely gorgeous.

To reiterate the words of jinzo(!?!) Britney's middle rights are almost always incredible but special mention goes out to Overprotected, 3, Sometimes, Radar, the Hold It Against Me breakdown and my personal favourite (in an otherwise terrible song) Criminal.

Special reference must go the abysmal Womanizer middle eight, however, for crimes against humanity.
    "Ardent Rihanna mud-slinger"

Britney has uh-mayyyyyzing middle-8s back in the day, coupled with the final chorus and the adlibs ("Stroooooooooonger!" etc.)

Nicola's middle-8 in Call The Shots is one of the best.

Heidi Range says hi. Especially Stronger, when she goes "See, I'm gonna do this for meee-eee-eee-eee-eee".
Born to run, get ahead of the rest.

My all-time favorite middle 8 is in Any Way the Wind Blows by Sara Bareilles. It is so breathtakingly heartstabbingly gorgeous I can hardly believe it.

(And none of you mentioned Gasoline by Britney. That middle 8 was the highlight of Femme Fatale.)
So if you're lonely, you know I'm here waiting for you...

    Current faves.

Lana Del Rey - This Is What Makes Us Girls.
Marina and the Diamonds - Teen Idle
    Madonna - I'm a Sinner
and the obligatory Gaga song - The Queen

I love a lot that have been mentioned, so I'll go for ones I haven't seen:

    Lady Gaga - Monster
    Taylor Swift - Enchanted
    Kelly Clarkson - Sober
Lana Del Rey - Without You
    Girls Aloud - Untouchable
Miley Cyrus - Can't Be Tamed
    The Disney Girls.

M.I.A.'s 'World Town'. I go into a trance every time I hear that middle 8. Pungi's need to be incorporated into music a lot more often.

Girls Aloud have so many of these, but I think The Loving Kind is my favourite. Nicola and Kimberly's bit: "I'd do anything, sing songs that lovers sing, if I could change your mind, am I not the loving kind?"

    About You Now - Sugababes

Heidi Range should re-record every middle 8 ever made.

Weirdly, the best mdidle-8 I've ever heard is on a Bucks Fizz flop called You and Your Heart So Blue.

The vocals are amazingly tight and the harmonies perfect:

"Given everything you needed, everything you've always wanted, will you ever learn to fly?"

The rest of the song pales in comparison.

    What You Waiting For?
\"I want to go on a mountain-top with a radio and good batteries and play a joyous tune and free the human race..!\"

"Forget about guns and forget ammunition 'cause I'm killing them all on my own little mission. Now, I'm not a saint but I'm not a sinner, and everything's cool as long as I'm getting thinner" might very well be the best 15 seconds of my entire life.

Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind
Girls Aloud - Can't Speak French
Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans
Marina & The Diamonds - Teen Idle
Marina & The Diamonds - Numb (The bridge-y bit in that is just asdfghjkl;)
    The Saturdays - Here Standing

Sky is the queen of middle eights:
    One
    Haters Anonymous
    Traces
    American Dream
    108

Apart from that, all 3 of Mini Viva's singles and Forbidden Love.

New In Town by Little Boots. It's deep innit.

Also really obvious choice but Toxic. It's insane. I've not heard a middle 8 like it since!

  23. #23
Keisha on Push The Button's middle 8.
Teenage Dream, it's just perfect. Especially the fading "tonight, tonight".

I've discovered a few other favorites:

    Got Dynamite - Demi

Bang Bang Bang - Selena. I don't care for the rest of the song, but that 'on to the next one' bit is so very good.

Take Me On the Floor - The Veronicas

H.A.T.E.U. - Mariah. The way she just spits 'Matter of FACT'. I love it.
    The Disney Girls.
