One thing that I have always done is translated songs into French. Random, I know. So I wanted a thread for it.

This isn't literally translated is it?
I actually love the Spanish version, Genie Atrapado or what it's called.

What would 'Baby One More Time' be in French, 'Chéri encore une fois"? Haha.

And Shakira has a few Spanish songs that she translated into English (Suerte (fortune in English I think) = Whenever, Wherever etc.) where she keeps the melody and structure but puts a different meaning to them. And usually I prefer the originals although I don't know much Spanish.

Oh no not literally translated. You can't do that because the rhymes don't work and stuff. I've tried to keep the original meaning and not change it completely, like Je N'Parle Pas Français / Can't Speak French.

Baby One More Time would probably be '...Encore Une Fois' I guess.

There are about half a dozen versions of Avril Lavigne 's 'Girlfriend' on the Spotify EP, including Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, Mandarin and German. The chorus is the only changed but but they're so crazy and hilarious.

Nice to see your humour remains painfully unfunny. I translated it myself, actually. How would I have popped it into Google Translate for it to come out rhythm-perfect if I were so linguistically inept?! Explain? It takes real skill to translate an English song into another language without losing the original meaning and keeping the rhymes and syllables. Can you do it? Can you translate it? Can you even read it? Schtum.

And if you're talking about grammatical errors, then I am only an A Level student so I'm not perfectly francophonic.

And you think Google Translate can pick up a subjunctive AND adverbial pronouns?!

Kylie's French version of Confide in Me is a literal translation and it doesn't work because it doesn't flow properly.

I once translated the whole of Wannabe into French for a friend's birthday card ... "si tu veux être mon amant il faut devenir mon ami ...". Brilliant. My fave line was "Facile V n'est pas gratuit - elle est une vraie dame"!! Ha.
