She said: "I'm afraid I have to sadly postpone my performance at Soho House New York on Monday, I have to go and shoot the music video for my next single 'National Anthem'.

Lord knows what's happening with Summertime Sadness then.

Oh my god just pick a song and stick with it!

This NEEDS to be a single. I have played it to death - one of my favourites on the album. It would really surprise all the people who label her a depressing one-trick pony ballad-singer.

'I am dying from the NERVES and the judgy NY crowd so I will shoot a video instead'

Makes more sense to go with this now, then Summertime Sadness by summer's end.

This is her best song by quite a margin, so thank God it's the next single.

YES. Yes yes yes yes yes. I don't know what switched, or if the plan has always been to make this the single and shoot the video early for Summertime Sadness, but yes. This is perfect and her best shot at a summer smash.

Well this order of National Anthem and then Summertime Sadness makes more sense and at least we know we're getting at least two more singles and videos.

Oh I think this is a bad choice. Should have stuck with Summertime Sadness or at least Off To The Races. Too much talky bits in this song.

And 'This Is What Makes Us Girls' in some form please?
With a girlpowa video starring her, Marina and the Icona Pop girls.

I wanted National Anthem to be released before Summertime Sadness and it seems like that is happening.

  12. #12
Oh good! This one is actually great.

  13. #13
Rumour has it that this is actually the US single and Europe is still getting Summertime Sadness next.

Well it would certainly make sense for the US, since the Fourth of July is coming up...

I wish the demo version was on the album, though.

  15. #15
To be fair it would make sense all around the world. Everyone knows July 4th is US independence day.

YES. Nothing on her album screams "hit" more than this.
Born to run, get ahead of the rest.

Brilliant song this should definitely keep the album selling well.Yes it is a shame about the demo version

  18. #18
I want both 'National Anthem' and 'Summertime Sadness' as singles, so I'm glad we'll be getting videos for both :).

  19. #19
As stated by others, releasing this around July 4th in the US would be great.

  20. #20
Brilliant song, hope she releases both this and Summertime Sadness as singles.

Finally! So much better choice than Summertime Sadness. It's still Spring and this is an amazing choice!

  22. #22
I have a fantasy in which this is HUGE on US radio this summer. Ha.

This is my favorite Lana song.

I love it, but not as much as Summertime Sadness, so I hope to Christ it's being released as well as Summertime Sadness and not instead of, or I won't be impressed.
I thought I had it but I tumbled...

Had it retained a portion of the spark the demo had, I might agree, but I don't think I've ever stopped resenting the way it was whitewashed into the uniform of the album.
