A bit further back, but of all the lead singers of mega 80s pop bands, Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran) never did anything without at least one of the other band-members involved. Not even a guest vocal somewhere. That must be quite unusual. Even when Duran's stock was at a real low in the late 90s, and it was almost down to just him and Nick Rhodes, he never branched out alone.

Amelle when she hit #1 with Tinchy. Such a missed opportunity for her, I think that was her only real shot at it, which is a shame, it allowed her to step away from Mutya's legacy and out from Keisha's shadow, just a pity she didn't grab it by both hands and run with it.

Oh, Amelle. What should have went down - what the gods intended to go down - was for Amelle to leave and stay gone. If she hadn't returned for that bloody video shoot, Amelle, riding on a small wave of popularity, could at least have gotten some good press and studio time as The Latest Victim Of The Buchanan.
