I got Point de Suture and it's STUNNING and I need more Mylène in my life but I was wondering where to go next... Innamoramento? Cendres de Lunes? Aidez-moi svp!

Oh dear.. good question. My personal starting point was the 2 disc Les Mots compilation. But I'm aware not everyone thinks a greatest hits is a good starting point to do a discography justice. Still, there's plenty of great stuff, old and new, and for lack of a better advice I'd say Les Mots.. or go really crazy with the 3cd carreer covering compilation: http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/2737...rlrefer=search

Les Mots was my first as well, and I think it's pretty good at covering her amazingness...

That said, I think Avant que l'ombre... is easily my favourite Mylène album, and there would be worse places to go next. (I really love Anamorphosée as well, but I'm not so convinced that it would be a logical/sensible next step...)

Oh, if the next move is another studio album I fully second Avant...

    Youtube.

Her early videos in particular. They were basically epic mini movies directed by Laurent and as important to the Mylene thing as the music.

I prefer her earlier work compared to the past 10 or so years. L'Autre... and Anamorphosée are amazing albums. Les Mots is good if you want to hear a wider variety of her work - but I'm not so keen on a lot of the tracks on there. The duet with Seal was a big WTF moment for me.

As mentioned above you must watch her earlier videos. They are seriously works of art. I know it's so easy to throw a Gaga comparison around but Myléne really did do it better.

I'd always suggest a Best Of, and then see which tracks/era appeals or interests you the most...then investigate that further.

I was a late comer to Myelene, and probably would still have never got into her were it not for Ray's mega love for the Seal duet and her music in general.

    This forum's Ray?

I actually really liked that duet. But I quite like Seal.

I've always been a huge Seal fan, from the Adamski single right up to...well, until those awful Soul cover version projects. So it was a nice way to be introduced to Mylene, and I just snowballed from there. First, that Les Mots compilation, and then any old albums I could find in the UK, plus her new releases since 2003. Oh, and the DVDs with her promo videos.

So I had a look at the GH album and I loved the Innamoramento songs so I got it and it's AMAZING it's like Ray of Light, seriously. However, bloody Lastfm won't recognise some of the songs... why?! http://www.last.fm/user/MacMachiavelli

If I had to choose one, it would be 'L'Autre', it's Mylene's 'Like A Prayer' or 'Behaviour'. Play it loud.

I would recommend starting in chronological order. It's the best way. I don't like Cendres de Lune bar Libertine, Tristana, Plus Grandir and Maman a Tort - well chosen singles! - but Ainsi Soit Je is amazing. It gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it. And each album is an improvement IMO.

L'Autre is okay, it's exactly like Like A Prayer i.e. aside from the big hit (Désenchantée), it's a bit meh haha.

Cendres de Lune is awesome! Libertine is amazing x100.
