Goodness, can we stop it with the Daesung hate? Sure, he's certainly not the prettiest, but he's the only good vocalist. Not that it's hugely difficult in the company of two rappers and two (just) competent vocalists.

I guess that's why I generally don't rate BIG BANG. Apart from having the occasional good video, a handful of fun (but mostly generic) songs and some hot members, what do they have?

I think I like Big Bang so much because they just come off as a lot more...organic compared to other boy groups. That word is pretty cheesy, but I can't think of a better way to describe it. I absolutely love the highly synchronized choreography of groups like Infinite and TVXQ, but when I watch them I always instantly visualize the years of intense training they had to go through to get to that point. Groups like that are part of what make k-pop what it is, but they're also what makes Big Bang stand out. They just seem to genuinely enjoy what they're doing and come off as having fun on stage in a way that other groups don't.

This has been pointed out by other K-PJers previously, but I also can't think of another group that would be capable of pulling off such universally great solo material. Not to mention there isn't another idol group with the same level of involvement in creating their own music, with GD&TOP writing their own lyrics and the former co-producing most if not all of Big Bang's material at this point. Even Seungri has a lot of input in putting together live performances and in the business side of things. I mean, I think the GD&TOP promotions alone make Big Bang k-pop legends!

Their performances of Sunset Glow were the reason I started stanning them. Everything is so exuberant!

BIG BANG are so far and away the best boy group in K-Pop it's actually laughable when you try to put them in context with the others. How much they've achieved, how trend-setting they've become, how involved with their craft they are; the videos, the classic singles, the legendary live performances. The rest are simply amateurs by comparison. One of the rare acts that makes Pop (capital P) a proper event. And especially rare in a group - all of the members work just as well apart as they do together (and visa-versa). Fair enough if you don't like the songs but Big Bang WILL go down in history as one of the most important pop acts of this time period and have already secured their legacy while the other groups are caught in a race of catch-up.

And yes, the Daesung hate is beyond random and actually reveals a lot about some of the people in this thread. I guess if you're not typically good looking you should just go sing in a closet somewhere. But then again, I get the feeling many people in this thread wouldn't care about some groups if they had to listen with their eyes closed.

^ But you have to remember that people have different opinions. If people don't like him - let them. It's not harming anyone. Just like you don't like different idols. If people don't appreciate or understand BIG BANG then it's best just to leave them well alone. No point in trying to change peoples minds and get everyone on the same wavelength.

Anyway, lets all get back to the serious discussion of GETTING OUR BOARD BACK! We need to get an update on if anything has happened! I mean seriously.. I'd rather they tell us it's all gone now then just throw it under the carpet and leave it alone!

Er, why? This is a discussion forum, I don't have to leave anyone's opinions "alone". People can think whatever they want obviously, as I stated in my post.... Maybe you should read it again.

And many of the comments in both this thread and the BIG BANG thread have had to do with Daesung's looks, which is really superficial and shouldn't matter.

Yeah, not reacting to the commentary of other posters is completely counterintuitive to the whole point of a message board. What would be the purpose of posting any opinions in the first place? Sure, none of the opinions being expressed are harmful, but neither are the reactions to those opinions. It's all ultimately for the love of k-pop!

I agree Disuko Inferno, in fact BIG BANG are the only group who have me watching every damn performance during those endless music show stages; for the simple fact that they're fun to watch. The choreography suits them to a tee, they exude charisma, the energy is always at 110% and they have fun on stage.

I'm so excited for new Japanese SNSD! And on Big Bang, they are all amazing. I used to love them an incredible amount but I just can't get into them like I once was. I still Stan for them Pre-Tonight (even though the song did grow on me). I just want solo Taeyang again before anything else.

And in amazing news, Teen Top's title song To You is out there and amazing. Best oooh's in a song since Call The Shots.
