Maroon 5 are set to release "one of our most diverse and poppiest albums yet," according to frontman Adam Levine. The group's fourth LP, Overexposed, will hit shelves on June 26th and offer ten new songs.

"'Moves Like Jagger' [from 2010's Hands All Over] was the first time we ever worked with an outside writer, so we decided to try it some more on this record," guitarist James Valentine said in a statement. "At this point in our career I think it was a good thing to completely mix up our process and it yielded good results, as well as a more collaborative spirit within the band. We wanted to make something that sounded contemporary with the elements of a lot of early eras of pop music. This is our most 'pop' record ever and we weren’t shy about really going for it."

Overexposed was executive produced by Max Martin. Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco also served as producers on some album cuts. It's also a highly collaborative effort – the album will include an appearance by Wiz Khalifa on "Payphone" and contributions from songwriters outside the band.

Which probably means Xtina won't be doing anything for the next few months. God dammit!
You'll never get the best of me, no, you won't.

Terrible. Been going downhill since the second record.
Not everything in this magical world is quite what it seems.

I love all their 3 albums, but Max Martin, Blanco and Tedder?
    No,no,no just no.

HA. The title sums up Moves Like Jagger I suppose.

Max Martin? Bound to be good then.

I loved all of their previous albums, so I am guessing this will be no different. Maroon 5 are probably my all time favourite 'pop' band.

    This sounds immense.

However I do NOT want Moves Like Jagger as a bonus track, not even as the UK only bonus track.

As long as the equality is up there with Moves Like Jagger, I have no problem with this.
Well this is just jolly isn\'t it?

I want a Christina duet. Or a collaboration with Cee Lo, Christina and Blake!

This will be such a smash.
    What the hell.

Seeing this I'm not excited. It's getting too poppy for them now. Perhaps Tedder actually works for them, who knows.
And that album title, is it supposed to be ironic? It could lead people to think that especially with these producers.

So they're really going bona-fide pop now?
    Hmm.
You wanted it, and now you've got it. The latest result of 'The Beyoncé Videos Rate' is now in.

I'm glad they are going full-on pop. They were never very good as 'credible' band anyway.

I love their latest album and Moves Like Jagger was really good too so I'm looking forwards to this a lot. I don't mind a poppier album from them, their latest album was quite pop imo, and the Ryan Tedder collaboration isn't a bad thing imo, I wouldn't say One republic were miles away from them anyway. I have to say though, I hope they don't completely abandon their routes, I kind of hope if this is poppier, it's a one off... even though I am looking forwards to it. Err... that makes sense in my head anyway.

Same. I love their first two albums but their third one was so uninspired and tepid, Moves Like Jagger gave them the massive arsekick they needed to stop from disappearing into oblivion.

Anyway, it's not like Moves Like Jagger was so far removed from their earlier stuff in the first place. This Love and Makes Me Wonder are almost as poppy.
Been there, done that, t-shirt didn't fit.

    I'm definitely intrigued by this.

I love Moves Like Jagger so a move in that direction sounds good to me.
I'm about to drown in the ocean.

Their last album was fantastic so I'm looking forward to this.

Love Maroon 5. I kept hoping that they would release Give A Little More after the re-issue and re-interest in the last album, but even happier about a new album and especially if it on the poppier rather than rockier side...

Why do I feel like we're just heading towards an Adam Levine pop album with three guys behind him? I'll be shocked if the "band" sound isn't all but gone.
    Meet your new stepmom, kid.

I'm really cautious about this. Hands All Over is my favorite album from them, and deserved to be massive. Moves Like Jagger was great for a little while, but its shelf life was pretty brief, and it got stale after about a month and a half. I have no desire to hear it again.

I agree that this is probably going to be Adam Levine feat. guys in the background doing nothing. That's pretty much what Moves Like Jagger was, plus Christina. They're basically pulling a Cobra Starship, but this is actually bad, because they managed to be a really great 'funk-pop-rock' band. Now that's all in the trash, it seems.

Oh man Benny Blanco. Can't wait.

I'm worried. Jonathan27 pretty much said it all for me.

That's what they've always been. How many 'indie' types do you think listen to Maroon 5?

Hopefully this is an improvement on the dismal Hands All Over. Also, for anyone who's interested, Adam will make his acting debut in the second season of American Horror Story.

I have mixed feelings about this. Before they released Moves Like Jagger their music was consistently good (albeit somewhat samey), but the success of that song could mean that the new album is going to be in the same vein (which I'm dreading). The idea of them working with Ryan Tedder makes the whole thing even less exciting.

This also proves once again that you should never believe artists when they insist that they're quitting music (like Adam did a few years ago).
