I think we should do a male popstar rate at some point - like Calvin Harris' Ready For The Weekend vs. Example's Won't Go Quietly vs. Labrinth's Electronic Earth - Probably not in high demand, but a male popstar rate would be cool.

I had a thought about this, actually: Producer-Pop rate.

Could do Calvin Harris vs David Guetta? The singles they've released or singles they've produced. (We Found Love, Call My Name, Where Have You Been, Spectrum remix etc vs. Commander, Acapella, Titanium, When Love Takes Over etc)
Yeah because Lady Gaga is the only pop star of this generation to have an iconic anthematic song. California Gurls says hi. *Eye roll*

Is that fair to have have all those lessors, up against Commander?

Producer pop rate would be really good - could do Timberland vs. Danja or Stargate vs. Max Martin/Dr. Luke

Max Martin alone has done enough songs to fill a rate or 2.

Not even Queen Cheryl's Call My Name?

Haha yeah, I was thinking RedOne vs Dr Luke or something as a follow-up; just selected Calvin and Guetta as they actively release their own music as an artist.

It's only in the running for 2nd.

Commander, Call My Name, and When Love Takes Over would make a perfect Top 3.

I would cry if Call My Name was in the top 3 - wouldnt put it in Calvin's top 3 let alone a Guetta/Harris chart though it's quite good. My top 3 would probably be In My Arms, I'm Not Alone then maybe Baby When The Lights to avoid a Guetta-free Top 3

Baby When The Lights would not stand a chance against any 'featuring..' track.

For me, it's any order of Where Have You Been, Titanium and We Found Love for the Top 3; Acapella and Commander filling out the Top 5..

Calvin did produce Off & On too. Sophie Ellis-Bextor stans, get in!

Let's place bets what will be here first: Sophie's next album, Sophie's next baby, or the Calvin Harris vs. David Guetta rate?

  13. #288
Thank God they haven't produced a Britney tack, haha.

Oh come on, she hasn't won every rate she was in!

    (has she?)

I do wonder what would happen if Britney and Cher Lloyd ended up in the same rate...

Well, I'm not sure about rates, but 2011 compilation maker/single survivor will happen sooner or later..

It's a shame coz it was a great song - I doubt people even remember it...

No, not every one. I think the only things she lost was the 2009 Single rate and the 2000 song survivor.

3 didn't exactly top the 2009 Compilation Maker either.

RE: Producer pop, singles of Max Martin rate! This would be AMAZING. Don't even put him up against anyone, but that would be so good.

  21. #296
Probably not a good idea though seeing as the top 10 will probably be all Britney regardless of quality.

That was the 2009 thing I was referring to!

You realise the Max Martin list is massive?

Though we could just cut out the middle man and congratulate With Ur Love on its inevitable victory...

Nah, we had both a 2009 Single Survivor and Compilation Maker.
The Glee Compilation maker wasn't topped by a Britney cover either. And erm.... yeah, that's about it.

When you limit yourself to singles it's doable.
