My only complaint will be if Loreen doesn't score a perfect 10 average.

I've had an idea spasm. King vs Queen; Michael Jackson v Madonna.

The Essential Michael Jackson vs Celebration, 38 tracks vs 36 (though I suppose Gimme All Your Luvin and Girl Gone Wild could be counted on Madonna's side to ensure all their albums are represented and the numbers are even).

What do we reckon? I'd expect insane amounts of 9s and 10s off everyone.
Yeah because Lady Gaga is the only pop star of this generation to have an iconic anthematic song. California Gurls says hi. *Eye roll*

I'd be surprised if any Michael Jackson tracks even made it to the top 10. Not because of my own preference but with the way this forum means entirely towards female stars, I feel he doesn't stand a chance. That said, it'd be interesting by all means.

And if 'Girl Gone Wild' somehow doesn't come top it can take consolation by placing first in my rate on November 1st...

Really? I'd expect Bad, Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It, Earth Song, Smooth Criminal and Man in the Mirror all to stage pretty big attempts at a Top 10 finish!

I feel like I'm never going to be able to do my Circus vs The Fame vs I Am...Basic rate...haha

A terrible idea for a rate on Popjustice. I love MJ but he would get slaughtered. He's always been horribly overlooked/underrated by the PJ crowd. I doubt he'd even make the top 30 in a rate like that.

You could always do The Queen vs The Princess?

    Princess meaning Britney, not Kylie.

Lame! Objectively speaking, I'd say there's little to separate them.

(Bad of course is the best single of either of the two artists)

Oh I completely agree (on both counts) but the PJ majority isn't here for Michael. On paper it would be an awesome rate but the actual results would most likely be terrible.

  10. #210
Yes, that rate in theory is a great idea. In actual fact though, the results from this forum would be a disaster.

  11. #211
I wonder if people not here for MJ would actually take part though.

That would get nasty real quick. All the Bitter Betsys would come out in full force when Britney, per usual, slaughters the rate competition!

    GAGA VS. MADONNA.

Oh my God it would be the most fun thing ever. Is there any way we could make that work?

I think that would be a fantastic rate!

Surely rates should be somewhat evenly matched.

I really want to do an 80s Divas in 2008-off: Hard Candy vs. Discipline vs. E=MC2?

  17. #217
For all these Gaga vs Britney vs Madonna vs Michael singles rates or whatever, haven't there already been individual singles rates for each artist? It seems a little redundant.

In what way would E=MC2 qualify?

Oh yeah sorry HAHA. I forget that Mariah came in the 90s.

The forum becomes soo much fun when we have a very competitive rate, ohhh the memories...

Ooh has Control vs. True Blue been done yet?

  22. #222
I still think Hard Candy vs. Discipline vs. E=MC2 sounds like an awesome idea! I was thinking Hard Candy vs. E=MC2 vs. Circus, but that works much better. And when Britney is involved, it's always unfairly skewed.
    The Disney Girls.

I do like the sound of Hard Candy vs.... think maybe E=MC2 should be replaced with X though.

    Would all 4 be possible?

Oh no wait X was released in 2007 not 2008! I'll stick with the original three.
