I love the backdrop during Born This Way.
    Warhol! Madonna-esque iconography! Mass production!
It sums up the pop music industry and its quest to find another Madonna.

Masterpiece sounds way better than I expected. And Hung Up is okay (yes, better than on Sticky & Sweet). I haven't watched all clips, mostly just small parts just to be sure it's worth it. And it is.

Some review said that the first section is actually the weakest (haven't watched the opening, only seen a few pictures) because the first three songs were no actual hits and it takes quite a while until the crowd would go crazy or whatever.
Personally the only thing I don't really enjoy is Nicki Minaj's backdrop (wish they had cut out her part but knew it was not going to happen) but it's not that important.
Now I'm trying to avoid the obvious highlights.

I am very impressed with all of this, it makes me want to go! The costumes are fantastic!

    Hooray! She can still sing!

It's true though - while the first section is great, it seems like it's just for the hardcore fans. Not many people would know the first three songs, and when an actual hit comes along it gets cut abruptly, the next hit has been completely reworked and then they have to wait another two songs before another hit comes along.

She can, I noticed that a few reviews mentioned hearing the live vocoder or whatever it is, and I could hear too in those professional clips. Still, it's good that she's doing it live all the same.

I like the opening song because I love love the choreography. My only complaint is that part before Girl Gone Wild really kicks in, you know where it is just a flat drum sound I think in the song. Too lifeless for the opening. The beginning of Girl Gone Wild should have been beefed up

I love the interlude of "Nobody Knows Me" , it is absolutely fantastic.

I'm in love. Why she didn't change the song like Beat Goes On is beyond me.

  10. #1435
She has decades of timeless hits, and yet she chooses to sing Candy Shop, Revolver and makes Heartbeat an interlude. Just what the hell? Trolldonna.

Trade those 3 songs for Ray of Light, Get into the Groove and Jump please.

Personally, I'd rather she performed Revolver for the first time than trudge out Into the Groove for its sixth tour appearence, or Ray of Light for its fourth.

Ray Of Light is one of her best singles, but it doesn't work as a choreographed performance.

From the clips that I have seen of Gang Bang, it looks absolutely amazing.
Gonna get the energy to wire me close to beautiful robots dancing alone.

Yeah well not everyone has had the privilege of seeing Madonna live six times. This is my first time and so I'd prefer her best songs to be played rather than generic flops no-one wants to hear from "The Queen of Pop".

Madonna's never done 'hits' tours though - even on Reinvention, by far the closest she's come, she included more than half of American Life. Drowned World had - what? - two pre-1994 songs. It's always been a source of criticism from some quarters - I have a clipping from The Sun after the Girlie Show opened in London with a huge sidebar list of all the hits she didn't perform. But she clearly doesn't care - she's never been particularly interested in her own back catalogue anyway (unless, these days, it works thematically, I would imagine).

I do undestand people's desire to see that sort of show, but it just isn't what you're going to get from a Madonna concert (that is until she starts the oldies circuit - if she ever does). She's all about the shock of the new, (and not repeating herself) and I think you just have to go with it, or else be perpetually disappointed.

In all fairness, she's not doing a 'greatest hits tour'. It's only natural she includes a lot of recent songs, though I understand why you're bummed.

I guess you guys are right. I'm happy with her performing loads of MDNA tracks because I actually really like the album, but Revolver and Candy Shop are two of her absolute worst. The spectacle will make up for it though, I'm so excited!

Oh - My - God. Here's a front view of the whole beginning. The set is spectacular from up in the audience. And Madonna jumping off backwards into the arms of the dancers is priceless. The moving boxes are unbelievable. And the whole Material Girl mixed in with great choreography I love.

Looks like a fantastic show. She looks amazing as well.
The funny thing is this is Britney's second video with a horse, the first being Me Against The Music

Well, I hate Candy Shop, so I'm with you. Revolver I think might be really good in the context of the violence thing in the beginning. Her show is ten minutes shy of two hours. I wish she would have thrown in one more four-minute hit. Oh, well

    Giant staircase, wow.

What song does walk along wires for?

She needs to be a little careful though- her albums aren't selling and she's starting to be known more as a live performer which is fine but most of the people going to the concerts aren't interested in Revolver or the MDNA songs. She risks alienating he casual concert goer if the majority of songs she performs are unknown to them. And that would be very bad indeed...
