Oh she was so horrible to her, even more so playing her audition tape at the end of her quitting as a big FU to her. She got saved by Tyra, she clearly was sick of being recorded 24/7 and wasn't what she expected it to be.

Oh, I was actually referring to this season's Eboni!!

@Resi12 Apologies, I misunderstood you. I agree that Tyra was vile with Ebony in Cycle 9.

I think Sophie does have the CoverGirl personality but her skin isn't very good for a cosmetics contract, obviously that hasn't stopped them before though. They still chose Krista and her dead eyes despite her having the worst CoverGirl photo since Saleisha's. Laura is the one that really shouldn't win considering the prizes.

Annaliese is doing weekly Vlogs too, and Sophie has a tumblr where she updates with videos and photos. Based on that any of them could win. Although apparently in Laura's most recent videos she's quite bitter and seems uninterested in modelling.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sorry then, I was wondering! I was like, do I only think that? Yeah 30 Never had it coming to be fair, I feel kinda cheated though. They never really showcased her though did they? All I remember was she hates being 30 Never because she used to be poor or something. Obviously it wasn't as silly as that but that's how the edit made it seem.

Laura is vile, Sophie is nice. I hope the nice girl wins this time. Krista.. let's not go there. As for Covergirl, there actually hasn't been much about it this season at all has there? Usually it's shoved down our throat at every opportunity, with them getting ready as plugs for their "THIS IS THE AMAZING NEW LIPBLAST PEN THAT COMES IN 10 SHADES....." spiel. I think Covergirl might be gone from next season on to be honest.

The whole make up thing like 20 seconds in, I mean who cares if you put some on. She sounds so unpleasant.

Ha ha, Catherine uploaded a video of all the girls pissed in the other house. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8l0p...Peg&playnext=1

I hope she doesn't get in trouble for that..

Based on this blog from Catherine, I can surely infer that Laura wins. Which is a disaster. Unless it's the slim chance that Sophie gets it. Those are the only two who I can see winning now with this blog. Though I wish Annaliese would win.
Bow to the hands of god.

Ewwwwww. NO, what?! I can't believe this. Horrible, the way Catherine says she was destined to win makes me think back to Whitney Thompson. Horrible winner if that's true. So annoyed!

  7. #157
Whitney was a terrible winner that was literally dragged to the end. Anya, Fatima and Katarzyna were heads above her in terms of modelling ability and that's been proven with all 3 going on to have very successful post-show careers. I only like 3 photos of Whitney, 2 of which the other 3 outshone her, and the other was probably one of the reasons she won (her CoverGirl). Her winning ruined what was otherwise a very enjoyable Cycle.

Quite possibly the funniest thing that Cycle - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTt9GPWeaVw

Well many people say Whitney was a fixed winner, she was approached and told to gain weight by producers if she wanted to win. She says she's been big set her whole life but there's photo's out there of her from like 2 years before her cycle of her at a size 2 as opposed to 6/8 on ANTM. It's such BS, I think The CW will renew it for Cycle 20 and that's it.

I didn't know that! I knew she was always a pre-select that despite how shit she did that she'd win. But to be told to gain weight, that's a stretch and something I hadn't heard before. Though I have seen some of those photos from her pre-ANTM days and she was much thinner. I wonder why they asked her to gain weight? It's not like she has an extraordinary, 1-in-a-million face. Like I would believe that they asked Yoanna to lose weight before appearing on the show (I don't think they actually did, but for comparisons sake).

I can't see this going past Cycle 20, it shouldn't. It can't really go anywhere else, it's done all that it can do, it's explored all the options from truly trying to find a model to now finding a brand. The last enjoyable Cycle, for me, was 10.

  10. #160
She was nearer a size 4 which is too big for 'normal' sized girls on the show and if she gained weight she was apparently guaranteed a top 3 position. Remember this was after Tyra's "KISS MY FAT ASS" drama and her everlasting campaign to change what beauty is. It's not that far-fetched to believe so..

Yeah they're only hope of this continuing is to actually find a supermodel but... yeah, I doubt it.

I think next cycle will be men's.

The next cycle is a college cycle isn't it?

  13. #163
Well, that´s pigtails for everyone then!

  14. #164
Oh, we'll I just heard One of the Jays tweet about a men's cycle so I just assumed, lol. Misinformed, sorry guys!

I can't see them take that stance with the show hanging on by a wire, maybe guy vs girls but they're key demographic is teenage girls. It could surely alienate too many of them possibly.

  16. #166
You make. a lot of sense. I wonder what is bringing all this change right now. from an interview with Cathrine it seems Kelly has quite an impact on what goes on behind scenes now - did she fire the guys?
I paint my nails black because it fits my mood...

  17. #167
Well she isn't a producer so she wouldn't have the authority. I'm sure it was Tyra but perhaps Kelly is whispering in her ears, maybe the executives of CW gave her an ultimatum of renewing it only if it took a fresh approach. There are lots of possibilities of why it happened.. I am totally guessing cycle 19 will be a complete change though.

I am almost sure Covergirl will be gone, only because it's been such a fraction of this season. Now I know I said that already but I think that's a pretty big deal for ANTM, it was like Seventeen (and that absolute gargoyle Ann Shoket). When it was the prize, challenges for it were practically every second episode or Ann would pop up (unfortunately) as a guest of some kind. Also in one of the episodes, I think it was the last one actually when they were getting their make up done it zoomed up on a Revelon product which is odd to do if you've already got one cosmetics brand forking out 100 grand for the season.

Also maybe I am being senile in my young age but they didn't do a commercial at all for Covergirl yet have they? Isn't that like a first?

They've gone high fashion, they've done commercial with All Stars. What more can they do? Will it be more geared towards music videos and the like? I do wonder would they ever introduce home voting or even a live finale.. Who knows. I can't wait to see the replacements though. I did hear that more fashion bloggers of today will be included like Bryan Boy, to cash in on the social network era we live in.

Tyra actually confirmed audience participation will take place next cycle, though it might only be for original casting. And you're so right about CoverGirl. LOL@ Ann Shoket hate! I also heard we have a younger male model judge, but he's fairly recent on the scene...

I personally welcome a change and I really like Kelly Cutrone in her role! She was amazing with the girls on The Hills and The City and I loved her flop show Kell on Earth. She's such a strong woman and unlike Tyra she tell it straight up and isn't shady. She's not just a bitch though, she is usually really encouraging women to toughen up and take command of their lives and a lot of girls on ANTM have needed to learn that there's no room for tears in business.

So, the girl who was the least modelesque in her British series is now the WINNER of the American series? What. On. Earth. It's great for her, though I am amazed - on the British series she was the 'deadwood' I kept expecting to be eliminated every week. Then she came second.

Regarding the 'audience participation', it seems public voting on photos is underway. Which means people will know who's in the Final months before the series starts!? A bit strange. Though I like how the public will be voting on the pictures without knowing the personalities of the girls...

Sophie was a good model this time round though, Laura might have been the best portfolio wise but Sophie was the whole package. I'm still shocked Tyra let a British girl win but I'm very happy.

  22. #172
I'm happy BUT now cautious at to Catherine's blog. I could understand Laura being ruthless but Sophie? She didn't come across that way at least, perhaps it was all edited.

Poor Laura though, while she is a bit bleak it's never nice to see someone who wants it so bad get to that point and be given nothing. Perhaps she can do well on her own though, she is a great model in her own right. I loved her Covergirl commercial, in fact I think it was the nicest they've ever done? The candid moments were quite nicely done, well except the two or three 'candid' shots of looking out a boat or applying the product outside.

  23. #173
Very pleased with Sophie winning. Her "single" isn't that bad either.

Yeah, that's the downside to it all. I suppose Sophie did gossip quite a bit, so Catherine might have seen stuff of Sophie she was not aware of while being there.

I was very pleasantly surprised though, totally expected for that panic attack to be a red herring/final struggle to overcome and Laura to take it, plus Sophie looked sad all through judging and I assumed they might have filmed it after results or something.

I just loved that song the British girls sang!
