I agree. "Kickin In' is probably my favourite "dance" type track on the album.
I think his slow songs are the best like "Underneath" and "Outlaws of Love" but most of the album I enjoy.

Love this album and love Adam, but does nobody think this would make an AMAZING Britney album?
With Cuckoo as the lead single, a Toxic/Womanizer esque video with a toung in cheek reference to shaving her head and the umbrella incident
Her vocals on Kickin In and Pop That Lock.....wow

YAY. My album imported from the US arrived today (2 days early, thank you very much Amazon) Booklet is average, nice head wear though! I like this album campaign a lot, aside from the very silly release dates. Styling is spot on.

I'm so annoyed I won't get to hear this album until July 2nd! The two singles so far show promise, the reviews I've read have been very positive and hearing sneak peaks of 'Outlaws' and 'Underneath' make me very excited! I was abit disappointed with his debut, but I'm pumped for this.

This is going to flop isn't it? Shame.

It's going to be very Bionic. It's headed for #1 in the US, but it's hardly going to stay there.
Born to run, get ahead of the rest.

I'm surprised Never Close Our Eyes didn't at least do SOMETHING on iTunes after the American Idol performance last week. His performance of Whataya Want From Me on American Idol propelled it to the top ten on Billboard, though I know that song had some momentum before. He certainly deserves some big hits from this era; Better Than I Know Myself just wasn't one of them.

I thought it was supposed to sell 70,000 to 80,000 copies? That seems pretty damn good.

Adam Lambert is crap from A to Z.

  10. #260
Oh, I didn't realise that. I just went onto iTunes and saw the album was at like #14, but I guess iTunes doesn't really reflect the official album charts.
    Good for him!

    No, he's actually pretty good.

Ahh nice, I'll definitely check it out. I love his first album!

Never Close Our Eyes deserves to smash. I don't know why RCA is waiting so long to release it to radio after the American Idol performance but here's hoping it doesn't completely flop on its butt like I think it might.

I really tried my very best, but I just can't like this album. The only songs that I like are BTIKM, Never Close Our Eyes, Cuckoo and Runnin.

I haven't heard the album yet, but I'll give it a listen later. I actually loved Better Than I Know Myself, I thought it was a real grower.

Adam is the perfect example of how it really doesn't matter how good a singer you are nowadays. I watched an 18 minute video of all of his best bits from Idol the other day, and he's far and away one of the most technically impressive vocalists I've ever heard in my life, given the right song. People obviously just don't connect to his material though. It was still a fucking travesty that he was beaten on Idol by the most boring winner ever.

However, his album did go to number 1 in the States this week, albeit with the lowest first week sales in about 9 months! So very clever timing on that release got him there, as there were some weeks when his sales of about 80,000 would have put him mid to low top 10. No doubt the album will plummet though.

My two cents: Better Than I Know Myself is a pretty good song, but not such a good lead single. That would have made a much better second single after a really hot first release. After listening to the album on spotify, I have to say that Naked Love is really catchy and has a pretty infectious melody.

While a lot of the album tracks are decent, it feels kind of over-produced to me. It's like a 21st century Phil Spector wall of sound at times. I like there to be some room to breathe every now and then.

And I cracked up at whoever up thread said it would be a good Britney album. That was actually funny, and not untrue.

Good for him for going #1 in the States. I still don't like the album though.

I've decided Runnin' is amazing and I would love to hear more songs in that vein. I actually like all the deluxe tracks, his voice really suits that kind of Rock/Indie band style. I'd love him to do another song with Muse.

The video was kinda crazy but amazing at the same time. Adam loves a bit of controversy! I don't know about finding him sexy, hes attractive but he doesn't do it for me.

Just got this album. I prefer it to FYE already, just for the fact that there's at least somewhat of a cohesive sound to it (his first one was a mess, sonically speaking).

Aside from the two singles, I am totally addicted to Runnin', Cuckoo and Outlaws of Love. I think the executive who chose to relegate Runnin' to a bonus track, should be fired, as it is one of his best songs EVER.

  22. #272
I couldn't agree more. I'm sort of over this album already but I never, ever get tired of Runnin'. It breaks my heart that there's a zero chance of it ever being a single, it's easily one of his best songs to date.

  23. #273
He actually kind of reminds me of fellow American Idol star, Jennifer Hudson. Both of them have had some gems on their respective albums, but in general, they seem to struggle to be convincing popstars as their immense vocal talents just seem cheapened by whatever they record.

  24. #274
It's a good album, but it's too 'whatever' to really make Adam a star. His music is just not ballsy enough to attract either gay or straight crowd. Gays have much crazier pop acts and straight people can easily find much rockier acts. Adam just stays somewhere in the background, which is a shame, as I find him very talented. He needs to work with someone who will really use of his potential.

Agreed. That song is a monster.
